We all want the perfect relationship- a relationship that we can pride ourselves on, a relationship that makes us feel complete and a relationship that can become our strength when we’re at our lowest. But not many of us are actually aware of how to make this perfect relationship happen. We just find someone to date and expect this to magically lead towards something amazing. And we never really put in any extra thoughts or efforts into making it something big and something incredible. If you feel like your relationships always tend to be very unfulfilling, then stop worrying. This won’t always be the case!
Here are 7 simple ways you can use to make a relationship amazing:
Everyone keeps emphasizing on how communication is the most essential part of a relationship but no one actually explains what "complete communication" with your partner actually entails. Communication doesn’t only mean that you should keep talking all the time, telling your partner about the day you had, about your past life and about your feelings and emotions. If you’re doing all of this, then that’s absolutely great but your responsibility doesn’t end here.
What’s needed is to speak and then listen as well. Listen to the things they have to say, let them talk about their life, maintain eye contact when they speak and make them feel like they are really being heard.
Accept them for who they are
Love your partner for what they really are, not for what you can change them into.
You’re always going to share a few similarities AND a few differences with your partner. The key is to love, appreciate and respect both. The similarities you share will bring you closer together and the differences (whether on opinions, actions or thoughts) will provide you a different perspective on things. And if there’s something about them that you just can’t agree with, then talk it out rather than trying to change it by force or creating an issue.
Support and Reinforce the things they like
Every couple shares personal as well as individual interests and passions. You can’t just stick by them on the things that interest you and act indifferent towards the things that don’t. You don’t have to actively participate in all their hobbies and passions but what you do need to do is support them in it and show genuine interest. Give them time to talk about the things they like, the things that interest them and they will do the same for you. *Continue reading on next page*
