A lot of people in general are just creatures of habit. A lot of us will tend to crave for structure and routine in our lives. We will look for a kind of stable system that we can fall back on because it gives us a sense of control and order over how we live our lives. And yes, we can have our very unique and distinct habits that are only unique to us as individuals. But there are also some general times throughout the day wherein plenty of us will engage in the same kind of rituals to prepare us for what we’re about to do. This article in particular is going to focus on the many common habits that a lot of women have before they drift off into dream land.
In such a fast-paced world that we live in today, it can be really tiring and overwhelming a lot of the time. It can be really tempting to just go home after a long day at work and just head straight to the bed right away. But we don’t do that. Women don’t just go to bed right away because there are things that still need to be done. She may be tired. She may be exhausted. She may even be pressed for time. But she isn’t going to compromise on her nightly ritual – and if you are a woman who is reading this, then it’s likely that a lot of the stuff that are listed here will apply to you as well.
Are pre-bedtime habits really necessary? Well, technically no. We can always just choose forego them. There is no law in the universe that is compelling you to partake in these habits on a nightly basis. But you still make sure that you try to tick everything off your checklist before you fall asleep. It’s something innate within you that just doesn’t allow for you to not partake in these ritualistic practices. You feel compelled by your own psyche – and in a way, it’s the only way you know you’re going to have a good night’s sleep; if you actually take the time to do these habits.
A lot of guys may find it completely bonkers for you to obsessively follow these specific steps before you go to bed; but what do they know? It’s your life. You should get to live it however you want. If this is a particular quirk that you have, then nothing or no one is stopping you from having it. The important thing that you must remember at this point is that you are not alone – and this list is proof of that fact.

1. Do the whole facial maintenance routine.
Of course, what’s the point of getting beauty sleep if you don’t apply all of your creams and lotions beforehand, right?
2. Update yourself on your social media feeds.
You want to update yourself on the lives of the people around you – and those all over the world. Why not go through a quick glance of your social media feed?
3. Have a pre-bedtime snack.
You’re hungry. Maybe a light little snack wouldn’t hurt so much, right? You can probably burn it off while you’re sleeping anyway.
4. Brush your teeth.
Oral hygiene is something you should never neglect. And dentists always say that you have to brush your teeth and gargle your mouthwash before you go to sleep.
5. Relieve yourself in the bathroom.
When nature calls, you always have to respond. And most nights, nature calls just when you’re already comfortable in your bed.
6. Message your significant other.
Of course, you’re going to have to text bae and let him know that you’re about to go to sleep; and that you’re thinking of him.
7. Watch a little bit of television.
You’re not really all that sleepy yet, so maybe you might turn the television on just to see what’s happening.
8. Check your message threads.
You then decide to check on all of those message threads that you’ve been avoiding all day. Maybe you should check your email while you’re at it.
9. Apply lotion to your body.
You want to keep yourself moisturized as you sleep, right?
10. Go over the things that you have to do for the next day.
You want to make sure that your tomorrow is going to be running smoothly; so you go over everything that’s on your plate for the next day.
11. Take a review of the day you’ve just had; or maybe even your entire existence.
Just think about life in general. Ponder over your day and think about what it really means to be alive.
