8 Signs That It’s Time To Give Up On Your Relationship

Sometimes, we just really have to know when it’s time to walk away. Love is a difficult game. It’s not something that is to be taken lightly. Otherwise, we risk losing out on one of the most beautiful things we could possibly experience with another human being. People who approach love recklessly are either immature or inexperienced – and they’re always bound to end up hurting themselves in the process. Love is something that is meticulously built and maintained. It’s something that is consciously worked on every single day if it’s going to work out. And even when you have the best intentions, and even when you try your absolute hardest to make your relationship work, there’s still a chance that you’re not going to be able to make things work – and that’s just the risk you run when you fall in love with someone.

When you discover that the relationship that you’re in just isn’t meant to last, then you need to be honest with yourself on that front. You need to be able to acknowledge that you’re just not going to be able to make things work and you need to walk away. It’s a painful process; but it’s still a necessary one. It’s still something you’re going to have to do. And the reason for that is because you don’t want to be wasting your time and energy on a relationship that isn’t going to last anyway. Sooner or later, your relationship is going to crash and burn; and it’s better for the two of you to do it on your own terms.

However, before we get to that, it’s also important to establish that you really have to fight for your relationships when things get difficult. Just because a few challenges are starting to present themselves in your love life doesn’t mean that you should just run away. That’s not how it works. You have to stay and fight for your love. And you only get to walk away once you know that you’re fighting a lost cause. So the key really lies in figuring out if your relationship still has a shot or not. You must always be introspective – and you need to keep things real. Once you come to terms with the fact that you’re not meant to be together, just walk away.

But if you’re the kind of person who has trouble figuring out if your relationship is doomed or not, then this article is exactly for you. If a lot of the things that are listed on here actually apply to your relationship, then it’s highly likely that you just need to give up on your love. Quit while you’re ahead. Cut your losses and move on.

1. One or both of you have just stopped putting the effort into the relationship.

It takes two people to make a relationship work. If only one person is picking up all of the slack and carrying all of the load, then the relationship is never going to survive. You both need to be heavily invested in keeping your relationship afloat.

2. You keep on fighting about the same things over and over again.

You keep rehashing old arguments because you just can’t seem to agree on anything. You don’t handle conflict resolution all too well and that’s a major sign of dysfunction.

3. Neither of you are willing to make compromises for one another.

Compromise is absolutely essential in any kind of relationship. You aren’t always going to agree on everything – and it’s important for one or both of you to be flexible enough to meet the other halfway.

4. You don’t really share the same visions for the future.

If you’re planning to have a long-term relationship, then understandably, it’s important for the two of you to be planning for the future of your relationship. However, if you just can’t see eye to eye on what your future looks like, then that’s just a sign of incompatibility.
