Don't push him too hard...

Not everyone is going to be cut out for marriage. Unfortunately, for a lot of people, they only find this out too late – when they’re already very deep into a marriage. That’s why it’s fairly important for a lot of couples to really think about the state of their relationships before moving on to the next stages in life. Often, a lot of people can feel pressured into getting married just because it’s what society expects of them. This pressure can be a bad thing because it has the potential to blind them from some blatant signs that their partners just aren’t ready for that kind of long-term commitment just yet.

Before you decide to tie the knot with your boyfriend, you have to make sure that both of you are ready for marriage. It can be particularly easy to figure out whether or not you’re ready for those wedding bells. You know yourself better than anyone else. However, people tend to make the mistake of not thinking about whether their partners are ready for marriage. Don’t fall into that trap. Make sure that your boyfriend is actually ready to be your husband – and a potential father to your children. Marriage isn’t some trial and error kind of experiment that you can afford to have. You don’t want to end up regretting a decision as big as marriage.

So if you really want to make sure that your boyfriend is ready to get married with you, then you have to make sure that he doesn’t exhibit any of the behaviors that are listed on here. If a lot of the items on this list still apply to him, then you have to consider the possibility that perhaps, he isn’t ready to be a husband just yet.

1. He still wastes too much time playing video games.

Video games are a great way to manage stress and just escape the harsh realities of the world. But if he’s spending too much time in front of the console, then you’re practically getting married with a teenager. He needs to learn how to manage his time better.

2. He doesn’t make an effort to really pay attention to what you’re saying.

Communication is very important especially in long-term relationships. Communication is always a give and take. He can’t be the one who is doing all the talking in the relationship. He also has to be willing to listen to you and actually pay attention to everything that you’re saying.

3. He lacks common decency and basic respect for women.

A man who doesn’t know how to act respectful and decent in the presence of women is a man who isn’t ready for marriage. He still lacks the maturity that is needed to make a real marriage work.

4. He still flirts with other women.

He shouldn’t even be flirting with women early on in the relationship. If he’s still doing it deep into the relationship, you should consider changing course.

5. He never makes you feel like you can be comfortable with being yourself.

You don’t want to be enduring a feeling of discomfort throughout your entire life. When you get into a long-term relationship with a man, he should always make you feel like you can be comfortable in your own skin. He should be accepting of who you really are as a person.
