Recently, a woman from Georgia went missing on September 10 and was found dead in a ravine.
On September 10, 2022, Amanda Bearden received $2385 cash on Venmo along with a cryptic message saying, “They are not going to let me go; love you, there is a key to the house in the blue flower pot by the door.”
The message was from Amanda’s 59-year-old mother, Debbie Collier, who went missing on the same day.
According to Daily Mail, 36-year-old Bearden immediately tried to call her mother several times after reading her message but didn’t get any response.
So, Amanda reported the matter to the Athens Clarke County Police.
“Debbie Collier’s tragic body was found in a small, steep-sided ravine on September 11 near a wooded area in Tallulah Falls, Georgia, after being reported missing the day before,” wrote Daily Mail.
“Cops launched a homicide probe after frantically searching nearby woods with a K-9 unit and finding a red tote bag and partially-burned blue tarp. They then discovered the 59-year-old’s body nearby.”
As per the Police, Debbie’s last message to her daughter Amanda clarified that she was kidnapped.
“They are treating the case as a homicide, rather than a suicide, reports 11 Alive.”
County Sherrif’s Office Col. Murray Kogod revealed that “Further search resulted in locating the body of a female subject down an embankment close to where the bag and tarp were located.”
The Police said that On September 10, Debbie, who used to work as the front office manager at Carriage House Realty in Athens, Georgia, left her house in a rented SUV.
“They were able to track the location of the car because of its SiriusXM satellite radio – leading them 60 miles north of her home in Athens, Georgia.”
“Collier’s body was then tragically found in a nearby ravine off of the highway where the vehicle was discovered on US 441 near Victory Home Lane.”
Now Habersham reported that the authorities investigating her case informed the deceased’s family of her tragic death.
According to Metro, “Collier’s body was then found in a ravine near the tarp, to which the investigation disclosed that they ‘observed a nude female laying on her back, grasping a small tree with her right hand.’”
Deborah Collier’s sudden and tragic death has left her family in extreme agony and pain. Reportedly, the daughter Amanda informed the authorities that her mother was doing completely fine and didn’t have any sort of mental or physical illness.
Debbie’s husband revealed to the authorities that he saw her on September 9 at 9 PM.
“It was the last time I saw her. I went to bed at night, and when I woke up in the morning, her car was still in the driveway,” He told Now Habersham.
The family also stated that on the day of the unfortunate incident, Debbie left the house without her car and her debit card and driving license, which was not what she usually did.
“A medical examiner is due to conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause and manner of Collier’s death.”
Our hearts go out to the grieving family of Debbie Collier. What do you have to say about her tragic death?
