She wants kids ‘so bad’ but is scared of starting a family with her pop star husband, Justin Bieber.
Recently, the 26-year-old model spoke to The Sunday Times for an interview published May 14 and got candid about her plans to start a family with her beloved husband, Justin Bieber.
“I literally cry about this all the time! I want kids so bad, but I get scared. It’s enough that people say things about my husband or my friends. I can’t imagine having to confront people saying things about a child,” she said.
“We can only do the best we can to raise them. As long as they feel loved and safe,” she added.
The 25-year-old model has been married to the famous teenage sensation Justin Bieber since 2018.
The couple wed in a New York City courthouse in September 2018 and held a more lavish and traditional wedding ceremony with their family, friends, and colleagues in South Carolina in 2019.
Before talking about her concerns about having children, Hailey also opened up about her health issues and the mini-stroke she survived in March 2022.
“The day after I was hospitalized, it was on the internet,” she told the outlet. “I wanted to talk about what happened in my own words because so many people were making assumptions.”
“If you let things like that silence you, you’re allowing people to dictate how you live your life. Sometimes I do just want to curl up and be a hermit, like, ‘If this is how people feel maybe I should just stay home.’ But I’m really not that kind of person.”
This is not the first time the Rhodes founder has opened up about having kids; last year Hailey and her Grammy-winning husband, Justin, sat down in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar and said marriage is a great responsibility and taking care of children is an even bigger responsibility.
“He’s still the person that I wanna be rushing back to,” said Hailey. “I might fly somewhere and go do a job, but I can’t wait to come back and hang out.”
“I feel like that’s because of the effort that’s been put in on both sides,” she continued. “At the end of the day, like, he’s my best friend, but it still does take a lot of work to make it work.”
“And then I know eventually, when kids come in the picture, that’s going to be a whole other season of navigating how to make that work,” she concluded.
In 2020, the Baby singer appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and said his wife still wanted to accomplish a few things before becoming a mother to his children.
“I’d love to have myself a little tribe. But, yeah, it’s her body and whatever she wants to do. … I think she wants to have a few,” Bieber told Ellen.
“There’s not really an issue, but I think Hailey still has some things she wants to accomplish as a woman, and I think … she’s just not ready yet. And that’s okay.”
