Intoxicated EasyJet Passenger Couple Punched Airport Staff For Not Allowing Them To Board The Plane

Recently a video went viral in which two passengers at the Bristol airport were seen punching the airport staff.

It has also been reported that several airports in the UK have been facing staff shortages resulting in lengthy queues, flight delays, and even cancellations.

On Friday, June 17, 2022, two EasyJet passengers were arrested at the Bristol airport for allegedly punching a security guard.

According to Bristol Live, the 39-year-old man was traveling with his girlfriend when the staff members stopped them from boarding the plane because they were ‘drunk.’

An eyewitness, Steve Rich, told the local outlet, “All of a sudden, the passenger just threw a fist over one of the guy’s shoulders and just caught the security guard on the mouth.”

The 33-year-old from Wiltshire told the outlet that it was unnecessary and scared the people who were present at the moment.

“The two girls who were working the (gate) were in floods of tears because it’s scary for them.

“Before the security arrived you’ve got these two people saying, ‘how are you going to stop us getting through to get on this flight?’ They were in tears and there were kids everywhere, I had my six-year-old.”

The 19-second video clip, now viral on social media, showed that the woman swore at the two staff members while her arms were in the air, and suddenly the man pushed her aside. The woman fell to the floor, and her boyfriend proceeded to punch one of the employees, who stopped the couple from going ahead.

Another staff member stepped in and tried to stop the man when the woman stood up, started pushing him, and continued verbally abusing the employees.

The incident caused a stir at the airport, and passengers became upset to see two intoxicated people violently attacking the airport staff members.

Speaking to Bristol Live, Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson confirmed that the ‘intoxicated’ couple had been arrested.

“At around 9.30pm on Friday (June 17), officers based at Bristol Airport responded to a report that members of security staff had been assaulted after two people were stopped from boarding a flight, due to being intoxicated.

“A 39-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of assault. They were both interviewed and given conditional cautions.” He said.

According to LADbible, a spokesperson for Bristol Airport shared,

“Anti-social, violent, or threatening behavior will not be accepted by Bristol Airport or airlines. Whilst such incidents are rare, we take them very seriously and will fully support any police investigation.”
