New rumors have been circulating that actor Keanu Reeves has secretly proposed to his girlfriend Alexandra Grant, as reported by sources close to the couple. These rumors were only given further credence because Reeves had been spotted shopping for diamond rings in Los Angeles back on March 31st. Before the engagement rumors, a friend that was close to the couple told OK! Magazine:
“Keanu isn’t hiding the fact that he’s going to propose to Alexandra.”
And after the rumors started swirling around, the same source said:
“Keanu popped the question after they returned home from Europe, where he was filming back-to-back movies, and she was there the whole time to support him.”
Simple Beginnings
In 2019, Keanu Reeves made his first red carpet debut with his girlfriend, Alexandra Grant, during the LACMA Art + Film Gala. This marked one of their first major public appearances as a couple, but their relationship actually stems back longer than that.
The two first met back in 2011 when they worked together on a book that Reeves was writing called Ode to Happiness. Grant worked as the illustrator for the book, and it seems like a friendship just naturally flourished from there. As the two got closer and closer over the years, many have speculated about the direction of the relationship.
Another source revealed to People magazine back in 2019 that
“Keanu wants to share his life with her openly. He is extremely happy and grateful to have Alex in his life. [They] started dating earlier this year, but have wanted to keep it quiet.”
A Naturally Budding Relationship
After Grant worked with Reeves on his 2011 book, the two worked together once more in 2016 on another book called Shadows. The two developed a fruitful working relationship with one another and eventually founded a publishing company together in 2017 called X Artists’ Books. The company was positioned to be a small publisher of artist-centered books.
Both Reeves and Grant are known to lead very private and quiet lifestyles. One of the few times that Grant has ever opened up about the relationship was back in March 2020, wherein she spoke with Vogue magazine.
She told the magazine:
“I think every single person I knew called me in the first week of November, and that’s fascinating, but the question I’ve been asking in all of this is: ‘What is the opportunity for good,’”
Again, the couple hasn’t come out to confirm the engagement just yet, but it seems like they are earnest about spending their time with one another. Many of Reeves’ fans are happy at these recent developments and are rooting for the actor’s continued success in life and love.
