Love Heals – This Single Dad Adopts Abandoned 13-year-old Boy who was Left at a Hospital

This story is truly inspirational and moving. It comes from Charlotte, North Carolina. It’s about a boy named Tony – who has had a dark childhood.

A rough and lonely childhood

Since he was at the tender age of 2-years-old, he has been in the foster care system. There is no knowledge of who his biological parents are. At the age of 4, Tony was adopted by a couple from Oklahoma.

But the rocky and turbulent times didn’t end there for the boy. At the age of 11, he was left at a hospital by the couple who adopted him – left alone to fend for himself yet again by those who were supposed to be his guardians and protectors. As he grew older, he found solace in volunteering at local nonprofits, inspired by the compassionate stories of people whose lives had been transformed through selflessness. One story that resonated deeply with him was of a mom saves lives as an organ donor, whose decision to give a part of herself brought hope and renewed life to countless individuals. This experience ignited a passion within him to advocate for those in need, reinforcing his belief that everyone has the power to make a difference, no matter their past. As he navigated through the uncertainty of his childhood, the boy heard news that echoed the chaos of his life: a woman shot in the face in a domestic dispute just down the road. The community rumbled with fear, and he couldn’t help but wonder if anyone was truly safe. Each report was a stark reminder of the fragility of life and the shadows that loomed over his young existence.

A beacon of hope finally appears

When Tony turned 12, a man named Peter Mutabazi appeared in his life. He got to know about the boy’s terrible and difficult past and instantly knew that he wasn’t going to let anything bad happen to him ever again. Peter became Tony’s foster dad.

While speaking to Good Morning America, Peter talked about Tony:

“He’s the nicest, smartest kid I’ve ever had,”

“From day one, he’s always called me ‘dad.’ He truly meant it and he looks up to me. He’s proud to show me at school and say, ‘Hey, he’s my dad.’ That’s something that I love about him.”

After a few months, Peter received a call from the care facility asking if he could take Tony home for the weekend. That’s when Peter found out more about Tony’s past and how incredibly tough it was.

According to Peter:

“By that time, I was crying. I thought, ‘Who would do that?'”

“Once I knew the parents’ rights were signed off and he had nowhere to go, I [knew] I had to take him.”

Peter Mutabazi legally became Tony’s father in a Charlotte courthouse and took him in as his own son. He continued:

“I had the room, the resources, so I had no reason to let him go,”

“For what someone did for me I wanted to do something for someone else.”

The father-son duo now spends quality time watching movies, reading books, playing sports, and taking care of each other. It’s safe to say Tony is finally under a true father’s protection and is loved.

Peter Mutabazi is truly an angel in disguise. His family keeps growing and blossoming for the better as he adopts more children in need. You should follow this amazing man’s adventures on his Instagram.

Thanks to the gracious man that DOES have a heart to raise this beautiful child. There’s a place in heaven for both of them. I don’t know how some pathetic people could abandon a child. However, the boy didn’t need to live with the horrible parents and our Good Lord made it possible he was going to be loved the rest of his life. Amen.
