Madonna has recently made rounds on social media again because of her social media antics. The 63-year-old pop superstar posted a nearly NSFW photo of herself on her personal Instagram with more than 17.8 million followers. The “Crazy for You” singer proves that she’s still got it despite her age.
She simply wrote in the caption:
“Breathwork…”
While Madonna does look stunning for her age, a few fans out there think that the image may have been doctored. One particular commenter lamented how Madonna’s appearance looks unnatural for a woman her age.
One commenter wrote:
“She doesn’t even look like the same person.. way too much work done on her face,”
Another commenter even compared Madonna to the Kardashian sisters, saying:
“Omg now even Madonna looks like a Kardashian,”
However, not all comments were of a negative connotation as one person wrote:
“She’s aging backwards,”
Material Girl Controversy
Madonna is definitely no stranger to controversy, as the singer has been caught in many scandalous situations throughout her career. Most recently, she has been criticized for posting some rather provocative photos. A lot of her posts drew immense attention – as is the case with Madonna.
One particular commenter wrote:
“Every day I love you more and more.”
Another admirer declared that the singer is:
“THE HOTTEST ANGEL/WOMAN ON EARTH.”
Another fan also pointed out that Madonna was recreating Marilyn Monroe’s death scene in bad taste. Many elements in the staged photo shoot referenced the tragic death of the iconic Hollywood actress, such as the bed frame and pill bottles.
A Confused Fandom
Her most recent photo upload that’s been stirring controversy is definitely a lot more subdued than the previous one. However, it still has many of the singer’s fans divided, especially regarding the authenticity of the star’s ageless looks.
Some believe that the singer is merely putting on makeup to mask her aging imperfections, while others believe that the photo is completely doctored to the point that it’s just authentic.
However, it’s worth noting that Madonna is no stranger to devoting a lot of time and energy to creating and molding her public persona’s particular image. It’s not totally out of character to doctor her photos to look younger than she actually is.
