Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini, popularly known as Doja Cat, is an American rapper and singer. The Los Angeles musician began her music career as a teenager; she used to release music on SoundCloud.
Her track ‘So High’ became viral and ultimately caught the attention of RCA Records, who offered her a deal.
Doja released her first debut short album when she was only 17 years old. Since then, she has released multiple studio albums, EPs, and singles.
Her best-selling album is ‘HOT PINK,’ which reached the top ten of the US billboard 200 and sold more than 1949213 copies.
Recently the 26-year-old faced heavy criticism and bashing by social media users when she posted a video on her TikTok imitating Amber Heard’s viral testimony where she said, ‘my dog stepped on a bee.’
In her now-deleted TikTok video, the ‘Say So’ singer made fun of the Aquaman actress and tried to recreate the testimony when Amber cried and told Jury, “We walked out of the trailer at some point, my dog stepped on a bee. We went to the vet and went on with our, you know, vacation.”
In her video, the singer copied Amber’s talking style and said,
“It’s honestly hella sad ’cause like, she’s a puppy, my dog. And I’ve had her for like a week and a half, maybe two weeks now. And she like, was just running around in the grass, and she steps on a bee.”
“My dog stepped on a bee. My dog stepped on a bee. She said while twitching her eyes.
“She stepped on a f**king bee. My dog stepped on a bee!”
Her video became viral not only on TikTok but on other platforms as well, and most people criticized her.
Many users posted on Twitter and called her act unnecessary and redundant.
“Doja Cat mocking Amber Heard isn’t funny and it never was when y’all did it months ago too.” A user tweeted.
“The internet is very unserious. Turning Amber Heard’s testimony into a TikTok sound is not only cruel but redundant as well.” Wrote another.
“I don’t care which side you are on, Doja Cat making fun of Amber Heard is disgusting, and if you don’t see that you’re a horrible person.” Another said.
Some people also said that thousands of people made fun of Amber during the trial and nobody cared, so why is it a problem now when Doja did it.
“Not a huge fan of Doja cat but why are people suddenly outraged she mimicked Amber Heard’s ‘I stepped on a bee’ when thousand were doing the same months ago.”
“Y’all literally been mocking on Amber Heard for months with the disgusting memes and so Doja Cat is horrible for doing it too?”
“Why are y’all mad at Doja Cat for saying “my dog stepped on a bee” as if people didn’t take actual audio from the trial of Amber Heard crying and acted it out and got millions of likes and positive comments?”
