Shakira Hits out at Gerard Pique’s New Girlfriend in Latest Interview

Shakira is lashing out at Pique’s new girlfriend, Clara Chia, in a new honest interview.

The former couple announced their separation in June last year after a relationship of eleven years and two children later.

The announcement came on June 4, 2022, when Shakira’s publicist made a statement on her behalf.

“We regret to confirm that we are parting ways. For the well-being of our children, who are our highest priority, we ask that you respect their privacy. Thank you for your understanding.”

The announcement was made when rumors about the 35-year-old footballer were circulating that he was cheating on the Queen of Latin music.

The Hips Don’t Lie singer allegedly found out that Pique was cheating on her when she returned home to an eaten jar of strawberry jam.

Last month, the Spanish footballer went Instagram official with her new girlfriend, Clara Chia, and posted a cozy selfie with her.

Talking about their split, Shakira said in her new interview,

“There is a place in hell reserved for women who don’t support other women.”

Adding that she has gained more confidence after her breakup and doesn’t need a man to complete her, Shakira, 46, said,

“I bought that story, that a woman needed a man to complete herself. I also had that dream of a family where the children had a mum and dad under the same roof.”

“You don’t achieve all your dreams in life but life has a way of compensating you and I think life has certainly done it with me with the marvelous two children I have who fill me with love every day,” she told journalist Enrique Acevedo.

“I’ve always been emotionally quite dependant on men, I’ve fallen in love with love, and I think I’ve been able to understand that story from another perspective and today I am sufficient on my own.”

The Colombian singer said that when a woman faces different battles, she becomes stronger.

“Now paradoxically I feel complete because I depend on myself and I have two children who depend on me and that means I have to be stronger than a lioness.”

“That strength comes out of experiencing a painful loss, of accepting it, of tolerating a frustration, of understanding that life doesn’t always bring us what we want,” she continued.

“There are dreams that are broken and you have to pick up the little pieces from the ground and put yourself together again, and also be an example to my children.”

The superstar ended her discussion by saying that she always thought she was more fragile; however, her circumstances have only made her stronger and a better person overall.

“Now I’ve got more confidence in myself. I didn’t know I could end up being strong. I always thought I was more fragile. It’s true that I’ve got a bit of everything but you have to have faith.”
