Natalie Portman’s French ballet dancer husband, Benjamin Millepied, is working on his relationship with the No Strings Attached actress after she caught him having an affair with a 25-year-old woman.
It has been reported that the couple is going through a rough patch in their marriage after Portman discovered her husband having an affair with a young climate activist Camille Étienne.
Last year, after Natalie caught Benjamin cheating on her, she allegedly parted ways with him. However, the pair, who married in 2012, managed to work through their marital struggles and reconcile.
New reports now claim that the pair is again facing problems in their relationship because of his extramarital affair, which is reportedly over now.
“He is doing all he can to get Natalie to forgive him and keep their family together,” a source told PEOPLE.
The affair was first reported by French outlet Voici – “In early March, the star of the ‘Star Wars’ saga discovered that her husband was having an affair with a young woman,” the magazine claimed.
An insider now claims that “It was short-lived and it is over.”
“He knows he made an enormous mistake, and he is doing all he can to get Natalie to forgive him and keep their family together,” the source added. “Natalie is incredibly private and has no intention of playing this out in the media. Her biggest priority is protecting her children and their privacy.”
A third source claimed to Page Six, “They have not split and are trying to work things out. Ben is doing everything he can to get Natalie to forgive him. He loves her and their family.”
The Thor: Love and Thunder actress recently attended Cannes Film Festival in France and had a successful premiere for her upcoming film, May December, but Ben was nowhere to be seen.
Natalie and Ben first met in 2009 when the French dancer was recruited to train Portman for her film, Black Swan. During the filming of the movie, Ben taught Natalie to dance, and by the time, they wrapped up the film’s shooting, they were already a couple.
“I met my husband on it, so I think I was in, like, dreamland … We had a whole, like, he was teaching me to dance. You know, one of those romantic [stories] … It was definitely exciting and fun. It was beautiful. I don’t know about instant. It was like I really got to know him and that was when it seemed like, ‘Oh this is the person,’” Natalie said during a SiriusXM Town Hall interview.
In 2010, the pair announced their engagement, and shortly after going public with their relationship, Portman revealed that she was pregnant with his child.
The couple tied the knot in 2012 and have two kids together – son Aleph, 12 and daughter Amalia, 6.
