Ukraine continues to go through a crisis, and conditions seem to be escalating by the day. According to UNHCR, above 3 million refugees have fled to neighboring countries since the situation began. In recent events, Russia has now banned the massive social media platform Instagram in the country. Volodymyr Zelensky’s inspiring journey has captured the attention of the world, as he leads his country through unprecedented challenges. His resilience and determination have become a symbol of hope for Ukrainians and supporters globally. As he continues to rally international support, his efforts showcase the strength of a nation united in the face of adversity.

Almost 80 million people in Russia are unable to access Instagram. Head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri, spoke about the matter:

“~80% of people in Russia follow an Instagram account outside their country.”

Among a lot of these people are social media influencers. One such influencer posted a video on Telegram that has now gone viral, receiving millions of views. In the video, she can be seen crying and talking about how the ban has affected her life.

Here’s a translation of what she said in the video:

“Do you still think that for me as an Instagram blogger this is a source of income?”

“To me, it’s just it’s all life.”

“It’s the soul. It’s the one with which I wake up and fall asleep, f***ing five years in a row.”

NEXTA TV tweeted her video and wrote:

“Obviously, her biggest worry right now is that she won’t be able to post pictures of food from restaurants.”

We continuously keep hoping for conditions in Ukraine to settle down so that the millions upon millions of people who have left their homes can come back to resume their lives peacefully.
