Have you been unfortunate enough to be in this situation?
Great. You are now in a relationship. You’ve managed to meet someone who is interested in getting to know you better. You’re with a person who is open to exploring the depths of your soul. Relationships are always going to be learning processes for couples.
No couple ever goes into a relationship having everything figured out. That’s why the best kinds of couples are those that never stop learning and growing with each other. It should also be known that there are no such things as perfect relationships. These perfect relationships only exist in fantasy lands. In real life, relationships have lots of problems and they can get very messy. Sometimes, relationships won’t end up working out as these couples initially hoped.
If you are in the unfortunate situation of being caught in a toxic relationship, then you might as well end things right away. Yes, there are some relationships that you can work on, but there are also some that are just beyond saving. When you are caught in a dishonest relationship that doesn’t have a chance of surviving, break things off and move on. It’s difficult, but it must be done. Here are some signs that you are in a relationship where love just isn’t real.
1. You have a partner who can’t read your mind.
Okay, it’s unreasonable for anyone to say that everyone has to be a literal mind-reader in order for the relationship to be real. It’s just important that over time, couples make an effort to learn and understand each other more. If you’re in a serious and stable relationship with someone, you can pick up some patterns that concern each other’s personality. You should have the kind of emotional connection that allows you to operate on the same wavelength most of the time.
2. You have no chemistry whatsoever.
Chemistry is important in a relationship. There’s no denying that. While chemistry in a relationship is practically impossible to measure, it can still definitely be felt by those who are experiencing it. You and your partner should have a natural free-flowing chemistry whenever you’re interacting with one another.
3. You are never on the receiving end of a compliment.
Love and affection can be expressed in various intimate ways. Never miss an opportunity to let your partner know that you find them attractive, handsome, or beautiful. Congratulate your partner whenever you’re proud of their achievements. If you feel like you never get any of these expressions of endearment, then maybe your love isn’t as real as you thought. – Continue reading on the next page
4. You feel like you are being judged constantly.
A loving relationship should always have couples who don’t judge or negatively criticize one another. True love should have the power to transcend any judgement or misgivings. You’re a person in a relationship with another person, you’re not a suspect on trial. Your partner should never make you feel like you’re being judged.
5. You often feel forgotten or neglected in the relationship.
A huge bulk of relationships are about time and commitment. Each partner should be willing to make compromises every now and then for the sake of the union. If you feel like your partner is always calling the shots regardless of how they make you feel, then the love definitely isn’t real.
6. You have to walk on eggshells around each other.
Deep down inside, you know that your relationship is a ticking time bomb. That’s why you always have to make an effort to be careful with what you’re saying or doing. You don’t want to trigger an argument, and so you feel like you have to suppress yourself.
7. You spend lots of time and energy defending your partner’s actions.
Your friends and family may be noticing that your partner doesn’t treat you right, and so you have to end up defending your partner to the entire world. 8. Your partner refuses to put any effort in the relationship.
Relationships are about mutual effort. Both parties need to invest themselves into the union in some manner. If you feel like you’re the one who is bearing the entire weight of the relationship, then that means you have a partner who isn’t as invested as you are.
9. You are rarely happy anymore.
There’s really no point in trying to maintain a relationship that doesn’t make you happy. While relationships aren’t necessarily always going to be pure joy and bliss, they shouldn’t also necessarily be pure sorrow and brokenness.
10. You don’t talk about the future as a couple.
Couples who know the potential of their love are never afraid to discuss the future. They understand that planning is essential if they want to make their relationship last all the way. If you and your partner are reluctant to talk about your future, then maybe your love for each other isn’t as true as you want it to be.
