Reality star Tammy Slaton has once again stunned fans with her impressive weight loss.
The 37-year-old TV personality, known for her role on the TLC show 1000-lb Sisters, was spotted posing by the pool with her friend, psychic medium Haley Michelle. They shared a set of pictures online. Tammy wore a blue swimsuit with a mermaid design, while Haley wore a black and white swimsuit with a frilled neck.
“Proud of you,” the caption read on Haley’s photo.
Haley posted a selfie with Tammy at a grocery store but didn’t mention where they were going for their girls’ trip. Her Instagram stories show that she and Tammy are having a good time during their trip. They made a FaceTime call to Tammy’s sister, Amy, and were also seen enjoying drinks with another friend.
Tammy has been on a lengthy weight loss journey, reaching approximately 725 pounds at her heaviest. She’s been open about her struggles with food addiction and the challenges of losing weight and improving her health.
Once reliant on a wheelchair due to her size, there was a positive update last May when it was reported that she could finally walk independently after shedding some weight.
Unfortunately, during that year, her husband passed away at 40, leaving Tammy to express how much she missed him a lot.
Tammy received applause from fans for her weight loss. Many congratulated her on her new figure and boosted her confidence in the comments.
“Holy wow! The transformation is incredible! So happy to see how far you have come, I may have cried a little,” said one.
“Goo Tammy!!! Watching your journey has been nothing but amazing. Keep going Tammy!!! Proud of you,” a second person commented.
“I know that Tammy must be so proud of herself. She fought the hard fight and made it when so many people wrote her off. Congrats girl!” added another.
Some expressed concern about Haley’s intentions, suggesting that the psychic medium might be using the Slaton sisters to gain social media fame.
“Stop using her for clout,” someone wrote.
“Tammy, I’d love to see pics of just YOU. @misshaleymichelle, we are tired of seeing your over filter face. This is Tammy’s journey, not yours,” wrote another.
“Who is this rando that has kidnapped Tammy for clout,” a third fan asked.
Slaton’s weight loss occurred after she went through bariatric surgery in 2022. Over the years, fans have watched the TV star enduring many hardships due to her excessive weight – 717 lbs.
In the latest season of her 1000-Lb Sisters show, fans saw Tammy achieving her goal weight to qualify for bariatric surgery.
“She needed to drop from 717 lbs. to 550 lbs. in order to qualify for weight loss surgery, and, much to her excitement, she made it down to 534 lbs,” per PEOPLE.
“When I got on the scale and I saw the scale was at 534.7, I kinda stopped breathing for a second,” said Slaton.
“I’m like 14 lbs. under my goal weight. From over 700, that’s a huge drop. I’m feeling thrilled, proud, excited — just all the emotions. I proved everybody wrong. Everybody that doubted me, I finally got mine! My told-you-so moment!”
Earlier this month, the TLC star shared her amazing journey of losing weight on Instagram. She posted a series of pictures showing herself in different outfits, like a fancy dress, pajamas, and a cozy sweatshirt with her cat.
Back in December, Tammy said she used to weigh 717 pounds, but now she’s down to 285 pounds.
