Don’t believe the naysayers. It’s perfectly plausible for a man and a woman to be friends without there being any romantic or sexual connection. There are plenty of cases of very healthy relationships between men and women that don’t revolve around romantic love or sex. However, there is a very fine line between being just a friend and being something just a little bit more. As ladies, you shouldn’t act like the crazy girlfriend who wouldn’t allow her man to have female friends. But you should also keep vigilant and be very wary of those girl friends who might just be a little too friendly.
A lot of these girls will have some ulterior motives with regards to their friendship with your man and you can’t always be too trusting. They might want to steal him away from you or maybe lure him into a night of fun in the bedroom without your consent. If you see that your man’s friend is guilty of a few of the items on this list, then it is time for you to take action and have a little talk with your guy.
1. She actually tries to flirt with him.
You have flirted with him before. You know what it looks like. So whenever you notice that this girl is flirting with your man, then you should really take action. Nobody gets to flirt with your man except you. Also, if she’s flirting with your man, then it’s highly likely that she isn’t just a friend.
2. He starts prioritizing her over you.
He would rather go out with her than with you. He starts canceling your scheduled dates because he has to spend time with her. He doesn’t give you so much attention anymore because he is too focused on her. That’s just plain wrong, and that’s not normal in any relationship.
3. He never talks about her with you, but he hangs out with her often.
One of the most common tells about guys being more than just friends with another girl is when they are secretive about it. If he had nothing to hide, then he would willingly let you know whenever the two of them are hanging out. In fact, he would probably invite you to tag along too if there was nothing to hide.
4. He never arranges a meeting between the two of you even though they talk all the time.
He makes sure that you don’t cross paths at all. He knows that would cause too much drama. He knows that you have great intuition and that you can always tell one something isn’t right. He understands that you would be able to pick up on anything suspicious that’s going on behind the scenes.
5. She goes out of her way to avoid you.
The girl is guilty. She doesn’t want to meet you because she doesn’t want to look you in the eye. She knows she’s doing something wrong, and she could never be comfortable when she’s around you.
6. She sends him provocative pictures of herself.
No self-respecting friend would ever send provocative photos of herself to a guy who has a girlfriend. If she is sending him some inappropriate photos of her body, then you can bet she wants to be more than just friends with him. In fact, she might be looking to be a little too friendly. There is no acceptable reason for her to be pimping herself out to your man.
7. He goes on dates with her.
He shouldn’t be going on constant dates with anyone except you. Sure, you would understand if he were meeting a childhood friend he hadn’t seen in forever. You wouldn’t mind if he had a lunch meeting with a colleague from work. But it just doesn’t seem right for him to be always seeing a girl he has no reason to be seeing on a constant basis.
8. Other people start to tell you that something weird is going on.
Sometimes, third-party perspectives are the most accurate ones. When you find yourself having to answer so many questions about why your man is spending too much time with a particular girl, then you have got to know that something is afoot. And other people are starting to notice it too.
9. You feel like the third wheel when you’re all together.
There’s nothing worse than feeling like a third wheel on a date with your boyfriend. On the off chance that all three of you are hanging out at the same time, your boyfriend should make an effort to never make you feel like the third wheel.
10. He always talks about her a little too much.
If he is mentioning her name to you on a regular basis, then it’s time for you to worry. There’s no reason for a man to be constantly bringing a girl’s name up during conversations unless she’s an important aspect of his life.
11. You think that he would pick her over you.
This is one of the most painful feelings in the world. You’re in a relationship with a guy but you’re not even sure if he would choose you over any other girl in the world. If you feel like you’re not the number one girl on his list, then it’s highly likely that your instincts are right.
