As we wade our ways through the waters of life, we make sure that we allot the time and energy necessary to pursue true love. We date. We experiment with relationships. We try our hands at finding a love that works for us because we are led to believe that it represents the pinnacle of human existence. We want to be able to experience what true love feels like because we believe in how magical and how amazing it can be. And when we have yet to find that love that we think is right for us, we can’t help but keep it at the backs of our minds as we endure everyday life.
There are those of us who are genuinely fortunate enough to actually find a true love early on in life. Perhaps they meet their boyfriends or girlfriends in high school, and they are able to make things last for the rest of their days. There are also some who might have to go through a few heartbreaks and disappointing romantic experiences before the true love of their lives comes knocking on their doors. And that’s okay. The one thing about love is that it only comes when it comes. We can’t rush it. We can’t delay it. We just have to make sure to recognize it when it’s there so that we don’t risk messing things up and letting it go. We don’t want to go through life knowing that we let the one chance we had at getting true love slip right through our fingers. And that’s why we have to be able to spot true love whenever we see it.
So what does true love look like?
Well, love can take its shape in many different forms. And it can mean so many different things to so many different kinds of people. But generally speaking, true love is always going to have with it a fair amount of passion and affection. True love is also going to have healthy doses of commitment, loyalty, and effort on the parts of both people involved. A lot of people will think that love is a feeling that one can’t help but feel. But it isn’t. Love is a choice. It’s a conscious choice that you make every day it’s the will to act.
As difficult (and as hurtful) as it may be to find the person that you’re meant to be with forever, it’s definitely worth it once you find it. The struggles that you endure on your pursuit to gaining true love are always going to be worth it. Once you have true love within your grasp, you will be vindicated. You will understand why it was necessary for you to go through all those heartaches. So when you find that special person who brings you true love, you have to make sure that you are able to recognize it immediately; because there are so many of us who actually take it for granted, and we end up losing the best thing that could have ever happened to us. We may not always recognize true love right away especially when we don’t know what it’s supposed to look like. But if you are perceptive and vigilant enough, you will gain a better understanding of what true love really is. And you will definitely know if you’re in it. 1. You have easy and open communication in your relationship.
Communication is important in a relationship. This is a point that has been stressed countless times before and it still resonates n the halls of truth today. The reason communication is essential in a relationship is because it’s the best way for two people to develop a closeness for one another. It’s the best tool to bridge whatever gaps there are between two individual souls.
Love alone is not enough to sustain a long-term relationship. Compatibility is just as important a determinant when it comes to the success of a relationship. If you and your partner are compatible with one another, it will be easier for you to come to compromises in your relationship. You won’t have much problems with meeting each other halfway.
3. You both envision a future for yourselves wherein the two of you are still together.
Obviously, part of ensuring the success of a long-term relationship is actually being able to plan for the future. And if you and your partner have goals and future plans that reconcile well, then that’s a good sign that your love is true.
4. You are a better person overall because of your relationship.
The one way that you can know a love is real and true is when it actually inspires and motivates you to become a better person. That’s what love can do to us. It not only enriches how we experience life but it also enriches the impact that we leave on life in return. True love can push us to be the best possible versions of ourselves.
