But despite that, there is still no taking a way that pregnancy is no clean break. It’s always dirty business and it’s important to always get right down to the details.

It’s important to stay mindful of the things that are going on so as to ensure the health of the expectant mother and the unborn baby.

As the baby daddy, you are definitely not absolved of any responsibility. You might not have to deal with the physical burdens of carrying a baby inside of you.

But that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t be willing to put yourself through the mud for your woman. She is going to need you now more than ever. You are supposed to be a partnership and you must always be doing your part in making sure that she never feels alone.

Studies have shown that women are more likely to have happy and healthy pregnancies whenever they have supportive and caring partners at their side to help them through the process. And you have to be able to afford your girl that luxury. You have to make her feel like she can always rely on you to be there for you no matter how things might get.

Don’t make any mistakes about it. She might be putting a brave face on and she is definitely excited about having a baby with you. But that doesn’t mean that she isn’t feeling scared and vulnerable.

That doesn’t mean that she isn’t afraid. Keep in mind that a woman’s hormones during pregnancy are going to make her very emotional. And you have to make sure that her feelings and emotions don’t get the best of her.

You have a few roles and responsibilities that you need to fulfill. Naturally, you can’t be the one to have the baby on her behalf. She’s going to have to bear that burden on her own.

But at the very least, you should be doing your part in making sure that she feels supported and motivated to see this pregnancy through to the end. Here are 4 ways that you can show support for your pregnant partner.

1. Accompany her on doctor’s appointments.

No one ever wants to have to go through a pregnancy alone. You might not think much of it to actually accompany your girl to doctor’s appointments but it’s going to be incredibly therapeutic for her to have you there. Remember that doctor’s appointments are always going to be scary.

You never know what to expect going into one. But knowing that she has you at her side to hold her hand through it all is going to be a great deal of help to her. You must also take it upon yourself to educate yourself on the science surrounding the pregnancy. Ask questions about how you can best ensure the health of the baby and the mother as well. Which leads us to the second point…

2. Make sure her needs are being met as well; not just the baby’s.

Remember that it’s not just about the baby here. It’s also about the mother. It can be very easy to just forget about the mother when all of the focus is diverted to the child that is about to be born.

And yes, it’s good that you want to make sure that all of the fetus’s needs are being met. But you shouldn’t be neglecting the needs of the mother as well. She is just as important here. You need to make sure that she is always being taken care of.

3. Be patient and understanding her emotionality.

Her hormones are going to be running wild as a result of all the estrogen that is being produced in the pregnancy. That’s why you should expect her to be highly emotional and at times, a bit unreasonable.

Her feelings will be getting the best of her a lot and you need to stretch your patience. Make sure that she knows that you are never judging her or criticizing her. Don’t make her feel attacked.

4. Celebrate the pregnancy and idea of childbirth.

And lastly, celebrate the pregnancy with her. She is really going to feel pressured and stressed out a lot. You have to make sure to remind her that even though she’s going through a very hard time, this is still something that the two of you should be thankful for. Always give her a reason to be happy and celebratory.
