Heartbreak has the power to stifle and frighten people into seclusion and isolation. That’s just the sad truth. A lot of people will not want to put themselves out there because they are afraid of getting hurt or rejected. They don’t think they would be able to bear with the humiliation and disappointment that comes with getting denied. And so a lot of opportunities for love end up getting missed out on just because people are too afraid to let themselves be vulnerable. It’s perfectly justifiable though. It’s never a nice feeling to be rejected or denied in such a gruesome manner. But at some point, you’re going to have to take a risk and put yourself out there for the sake of love. You are going to have to allow yourself to be open to rejection and disappointment.
So this is where crushes come in. Having a crush on person can either be a big deal or not depending on how you play things. If you are passive, then it really isn’t a big deal that you have a crush on someone. But if you want to be a little more forward and aggressive, then this crush has potential to turn into something worthwhile.
If you are the more aggressive type, then good for you. You understand the risks that are involved but you still insist on being a go-getter. You don’t want to be living life on the sidelines. You want to actively participate in molding your personal life and that’s great. But if you are a little more reserved, then maybe you have to consider emerging from your shell every once in a while. You have to understand that the worst case scenario is this person rejects you for a personal reason that shouldn’t concern you. It’s no big deal. At least you tried. And you never know, what if that person says yes? What if you were too frightened to ask and so you never found out? What if you just deliberately deprived yourself of the perfect love life?
The potential benefits far outweigh the potential downsides and you have to realize that. But to put your mind even more at ease, there are a few signs that you can keep an eye out for to really know if you have a shot at landing your crush. Of course, if your crush isn’t a very forward person, you would never be able to tell if they’re interested in you. But if you know what to look for, then you can get a good idea of where you stand with regards to their emotions. So if you want some sort of reassurance that your crush is into you, then maybe you should keep an eye out for some of these signs. If your crush is guilty of a lot of these signs, then you better muster up the courage and ask them out. There’s no time to spare when it comes to love.
1. They are generous with their Emojis when they are texting with you.
It’s essentially the modern way of showing endearment and affection. If a person is spending a lot of time and effort in meticulously selecting the appropriate Emojis to use in messages for you, then you are definitely more than just a regular friend in the eyes of that person.
2. They never leave you waiting for a reply for too long.
The only plausible explanations for them making you wait for a reply is when they don’t notice that you message them or when they’re legitimately busy with something. Otherwise, they will always make sure to promptly reply to your messages because they don’t like keeping you waiting.
3. They aren’t afraid to get a little touchy with you.
This is a more forward and aggressive expression of endearment and intimacy with another person. If your crush isn’t afraid to get a little handsy with you, then it’s highly likely that they have established a comfort level with you that they don’t necessarily share with other people.
4. They look for you personally in a crowded room.
In an awkward crowded room where one is desperate for a go-to buddy to ease the social awkwardness, your crush is always going to turn to you. Your crush will actually seek you out because you manage to make your crush feel comfortable.
5. They don’t hesitate to open up to you about their personal life.
This is another sign that your crush is growing ever more comfortable with you. They wouldn’t be opening up about their personal life to just anyone. They are deliberately opening up to you because they want to give you a better glimpse into their lives.
6. They send you random internet memes.
They will grab at any opportunity to talk to you and they will do so with memes. They will use these memes to strike up a conversation with you because they really enjoy conversing with you. Hence, you have a reason to confidently ask them out.
