7 Reasons You Shouldn’t Settle For Just Any Guy

Settling for the wrong guy in the relationship can be dangerous to your health. When you get into a relationship with someone, you always want to make sure that you are with a person who is in it for the long haul. You don’t want someone who is only going to be half-assing the relationship with you. You must be with someone who gives just as much to the relationship as you do.

That is why if you ever end up with someone less than what you deserve, you need to walk away. After all, self-love is always going to be an essential kind of love. And part of loving yourself means knowing when it’s time to walk away from someone who isn’t deserving of you. Truthfully, there are a lot of women out there who are victimized by their desperation. They stay in relationships that are wrong for them because they don’t think that they’re worthy of anything better.

But you should never allow yourself to end up in that kind of situation. Once you see that things aren’t right in the relationship, then you need to muster up the courage to walk away entirely. Love is always going to be worth fighting for. However, you need to make sure that it’s true love that you’re fighting for and not some delusion that you’re feeding yourself with. Self-preservation is essential in maintaining your sanity. If you allow yourself to stay in an abusive relationship, then you are only doing yourself a disservice.

If you’re still in need of convincing, then here are a few reasons as to why you shouldn’t be settling for just any guy:

1. You are a strong woman.

You are a strong and independent woman, and you don’t need to be in a relationship for you to live a life of happiness and meaning. Your sense of self-worth isn’t tied to whether you are in a relationship or not. You are secure enough in your person to stand firm even when you’re single. You know how to take care of yourself because you are an independent lady.

2. You deserve to be with “the one.”

You are always deserving of being with the one. That means that every other guy you might meet is not the one. And you should never have to settle for someone who is not intended to be with you. The search for one might be a long and grueling process. However, once you find him, it’s going to be worth the wait.

3. You can still have fun being single.

You don’t have to be in a relationship for you to have fun. You are perfectly capable of finding things that you love and enjoy doing even when you’re single. After all, you are your person who has your share of individual passions, hobbies, dreams, goals, and interests. You don’t need to be in a relationship to make your life fun and exciting. You can do all of that even when you’re single.

4. You don’t have to rush into anything.

You don’t have any deadlines that you need to meet. It’s not essential for you to stick to the timeline that society has laid out for you. All that matters is that you stay true to who you are and what you want. There is no need for you to be rushing the process of falling in love.

5. You have so many other people who love you.

Just because you aren’t in a romantic relationship doesn’t mean that people don’t love you. You know that there are loads of people in your life who love you and would want to take care of you.

6. You should get to decide how you are loved in a relationship.

You should always be the one who gets to decide how you are loved in a relationship. If the person you are with isn’t loving you in the right way, then you have every right to walk away from that. You don’t have to endure being in a relationship with someone who clearly doesn’t have what it takes to be in a relationship with you.

7. You deserve true love.

There is absolutely nothing in the world like true love. There is no other experience in the world that would be able to emulate the same kind of joy, fulfillment, and meaning that you get out of being in a genuinely loving relationship with someone.  That’s why you should never settle for a false kind of love. You shouldn’t be willing to jump on the coattails of a love that is not meant for you. After all, you don’t want to deprive yourself of the opportunity to fall in love for real.
