You might have heard that cheaters never change, but sometimes, a relationship can survive infidelity and even become stronger. However, there are cases where the person keeps cheating repeatedly, becoming a serial cheater. This can occur because they like the excitement of pursuing someone more than being in a relationship, or their lack of self-confidence leads them to look for approval from others.
To spot one, you can check the list below.
1. You haven’t met any of his friends or family
This might mean he doesn’t want to keep you in his life for long or let you meet his friends and family. He could be scared of commitment or hiding something. It’s normal if you’ve just started dating, but if you’ve been together for a while, it’s a warning sign.
2. Vague details
If he’s keeping secrets, he’ll make it really hard for you to know where he is, who he’s with, and how long he’s gone. When you ask about his day, he’ll give vague answers like “It was okay, did some work stuff.” We’re not asking for every detail, but a bit of information would be nice because someone cares about you and wants to know how your day went.
3. He just loves the chase
If he was really interested in you while he was pursuing you but then became distant once he got you, it might mean he enjoys the pursuit more than the actual relationship. It could also indicate he’s pursuing someone else. Unless he’s willing to discuss and work on the issue, it’s best to let him go. He’s just another emotionally unavailable person you don’t need in your life.
No matter how busy someone is, they can spare a couple of minutes to let you know they’re okay and thinking of you. If he’s consistently offline and claims to be working late at night, he might be using these as excuses for engaging in activities behind your back. If your instincts are telling you that something isn’t right, it’s wise to trust your intuition and not fall for his deceptive explanations.
5. He is extremely protective of his phone
If he’s constantly carrying his phone with him, even in situations where it’s unnecessary, it’s worth questioning why. Unless he’s involved in some top-secret work like the CIA, there’s little reason for him to be so protective of his phone. This behavior can make you anxious and suspicious about what he might be hiding on it. If he can’t trust you enough to leave his phone unattended for even a short time, it could be a sign of something suspicious.
6. Mood swings
If you see your boyfriend acting like the best partner one week and then suddenly starting arguments over small things the next, it can be confusing. While mood swings can happen due to work or health problems, it’s important to look at other signs too. When you notice these mood swings along with other concerning behaviors, it might mean there are bigger problems in the relationship.
7. He was never honest about his cheating in the past
If you hear from his friends or exes that he’s a cheater, that’s a big warning sign. A man who truly regrets his past cheating will be open about it and express remorse. He won’t hide anything from you because he understands the pain of dishonesty. But if he tries to keep his cheating history a secret and you hear about multiple relationships ending due to his unfaithfulness, it’s time to reconsider your relationship with him.
