Sometimes, it can be your parents, your siblings, your distant cousins, your romantic partner, or your officemate. Toxic people are everywhere and you really need to make sure that you distance yourself from them if you want to look out for yourself.

These toxic people aren’t going to be content with merely minding their own business. They are going to look to wreak havoc and destruction in your life as well. And you don’t want that. 1. You find yourself talking about them even when they’re not around.

That’s how profound of an effect they actually have on you. Even when they’re not around, the very thought of their toxicity doesn’t escape your mind. You are always complaining about how toxic they are to you – but the truth is that it’s your fault for letting them play such a big role in your life in the first place.

2. You lose control of your emotions whenever you’re together.

They have completely bypassed your body’s control center. They force you to lose control of your own feelings because of the overwhelming effect that their personalities have on you. If you’re not careful, you could risk harming yourself and the people you love because of that emotional instability. And you never want that to be the case.

3. You diminish your sense of self-worth because of them.

A toxic person will not hold back when it comes to demeaning and belittling you. They will always do a good job at convincing you of your own diminished sense of self-worth. You’re never going to feel like you’re comfortable around a toxic person. That’s just the way of the world. And you have to make sure that you have to cut ties with his person because you’re never going to feel at peace with this kind of relationship at all. It’s your guy’s way of telling you that something is wrong and you need to get out of this situation.

6. You find yourself being toxic towards other people as a result.

Misery loves company, as they say. Because you end up being so frustrated with all of the toxicity from this person, you’re going to want to lash out. You have to refuse to take part in the games that they play.

8. You resort to unhealthy habits to help you cope with the stress.

You might drink. You might smoke. You might do drugs. You might overeat. These are all unhealthy coping mechanisms that you are prone to if you don’t get rid of this toxic person in your life.
