Accused 22-Year-Old Adopted Girl Speaks Out as New Family Declares They’re ‘Done with Her’

After the documentary finale about Natalia Grace, the Ukrainian-born individual accused by her adoptive family of pretending to be a child when she is allegedly older, Natalia has broken her silence. Kristine and Michael Barnett, her adoptive parents, adopted her in 2010 and asserted having “evidence” supporting their claim that she is not a child.

After filing a lawsuit to determine Natalia’s true age, a judge ruled that she was 22 years old, changing her date of birth to 1989. Subsequently, the Barnetts moved to Canada, leaving Natalia in an apartment. The Barnetts faced charges of neglect of a dependent, with Michael found not guilty, and charges against Kristine dropped.

Natalia, now with her real age confirmed, was taken in by Cynthia and Antwon Mans. The intriguing case has captivated global attention and has been documented in Natalia’s TV special, “The Curious Case of Natalia Grace: Natalia Speaks.”

Cynthia and Antwon Mans, Natalia’s legal guardians since 2016, adopted her after the fallout with the Barnetts. However, the documentary concludes with a surprising twist. The Mans stated they were “done” with Natalia, revealing a shocking phone call where Antwon Mans expressed concerns about Natalia’s behavior, suggesting that “something ain’t right with Natalia.”

He claimed she portrayed them as the enemy, and tensions seemed to have escalated, adding a new layer of complexity to Natalia’s already mysterious story.

“This girl is tweakin,” he said. “I feel like she’s the enemy in the house. And she said to us, we have held her hostage. Made us look like we’re the enemy.”

“Natalia is stabbing her family in the back over a complete lie,” added Cynthia.

Michael added, “She’s done other things too, but this was a new low. Natalia does not have emotions for nothing but herself. We’re done. We’re done with her.”

Natalia has provided reassurance about her well-being on her Instagram page, expressing gratitude for the support and prayers. Despite facing confidentiality agreements related to the show, she assured followers that she is doing well and will share more details when possible.

Additionally, Natalia has initiated a GoFundMe campaign to secure funds for obtaining her own home and covering surgery expenses.

“I am okay and doing well and thank you all for your support and prayers. I wish I could tell you more Abt the show but I signed an agreement with the show to keep things confidential for now,” she wrote on her Instagram. “I will let you guys know when I can for sure, but just know I am okay. Love y’all.”

Natalia’s GoFundMe description highlights her goal of saving money to secure her own house and start a photography business, emphasizing her passion for capturing memories. With a form of dwarfism, Diastrophic Dysplasia, she anticipates the need for significant spine and leg surgeries, which are estimated to cost over $500,000 due to insurance limitations.

“I’m saving money to get my own house so I can have a personal place of my own and I am wanting to start my own photography business to create a fun and awesome way to have fun and do what I love which is taking pictures and creating memories for myself and other people!” said Natalie.

The campaign has already garnered nearly $9,000 in support.

“The costs associated with these surgeries are in excess of $500,000 because the specialist does not accept my medical insurance,” she added.
