Amber Heard Confirms She is Staying in Spain in First Spanish-Speaking Interview

Following her bitter legal battle with ex-husband Johnny Depp, the 37-year-old actress has permanently moved to Spain and has no plans to return to the entertainment industry.

According to an article by Alison Boshoff published earlier this month in the Daily Mail, it has been claimed that Heard has left Hollywood and moved to Spain with her young daughter Oonagh, without making a public announcement.

According to the journalist, a friend of Heard said, “She’s bilingual in Spanish and is happy there, raising her daughter away from all the noise.”

They also informed the media that the 37-year-old actress might eventually make a comeback to Hollywood.

“I don’t think she is in any hurry to return to work or to Hollywood, but she will probably come back when the time is right, for the right project,” the friend explained, per the Daily Mail report.

Just a few days earlier, she was seen enjoying time with her two-year-old daughter Oonagh at a children’s park while vacationing in Spain. The actress, who became a mother through surrogacy in July 2021, has generally kept her child away from the media spotlight.

It is unclear whether Heard is still in a relationship with Eve Barlow, who currently works as a writer in Los Angeles. Heard’s most recent acting projects include filming the 2021 movie Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom and the modestly budgeted thriller, In The Fire, released last spring. The Aquaman film is scheduled for release at the end of this year.

The Rum Diary actress also spoke to Spanish paparazzi and said she is happy with her relocation and love living in Spain.

In a viral video shared on TikTok, Heard can be seen talking to the reporters outsider her Madrid home.

“Amber, how is your new life here in Madrid?” the reporter asked her.

“I love Spain, so much,” she replied in Spanish.

When asked if she plans on staying in the Spanish capital, Amber replied, “Yes, I hope so. Yes, yes, I love living here.”

The Drive Angry star also told the reporters that she has some film projects in the works but has no plans to move back to the US. When the cameraman asked if she was planned to attend the Cannes Film Festival in France, she said, “I move on. That’s life.”

The Aquaman actress faced severe public disapproval and online criticism during and after the trial – from starting petitions to remove her from her upcoming Hollywood projects to banning her from acting forever; Depp fans and people generally did everything they could to teach Amber a lesson.

It all started with her 2018 op-ed in the Washington Post, where she wrote defamatory statements against her former husband, the Pirates of the Caribbean star Johnny Depp.

In her op-ed, Amber wrote that she was a domestic abuse survivor. Although she didn’t name and shame Depp in particular, it was apparent she was talking about him.

In the aftermath of her statements, Johnny was removed from the Fantastic Beast franchise and was called out by thousands for being a violent person.

After he filed a case against Heard, she countersued him for calling her a manipulative liar.

The trial lasted almost six weeks, and in June 2022, the court decided in favor of Depp.
