53-year-old Anne Heche was declared dead on August 12, 2022, when doctors confirmed that she had no brain activity

The Brave actress met with a terrible accident on August 5, 2022 – her car crashed into a house on Walgrove Avenue in West Los Angeles. The car burst into flames, and the house caught fire within minutes.

Heche got severely injured and was taken to the hospital, where she remained unconscious for almost a week, and then the doctors declared her ‘brain dead.’

“We have lost a bright light, a kind and most joyful soul, a loving mother, and a loyal friend. Anne will be deeply missed, but she lives on through her beautiful sons, her iconic body of work, and her passionate advocacy. Her bravery for always standing in her truth, spreading her message of love and acceptance, will continue to have a lasting impact. Her representative spoke to TMZ and confirmed her death on Friday.

The representative also stated that the actress wanted to donate her organs. So, the doctors decided to keep her on life support to keep her heart beating.

“The late actress has been on life support to keep her heart beating since Friday, August 12, when she was declared legally dead at age 53 due to the absence of brain activity. However, her body was kept on life support while her organs were evaluated for donation.” US Weekly reported.

The outlet wrote that Heche’s organs were harvested for donation on Sunday, August 14, 2022, after which the hospital staff paid tribute to the late Donnie Brasco star by arranging an honor walk.

“Just before the organs are procured for donation, hospital staff quietly line the path from the donor’s hospital room to the operating room, paying their respects to the donor for giving others a life-changing gift. Medical facilities typically ask the family for consent before performing an Honor Walk, and the next of kin often accompany their lost loved one on the way to the OR.”

Meanwhile, the house Anne crashed her car into was destroyed entirely, and the house owner ‘narrowly escaped.’

Lynne Michelle was in her house when Anne’s car crashed, and a fire broke out and got out of control.

Her neighbor, Roy Morgen, told CNN officials, “Heche’s car stopped about two feet away from where Michelle was sitting.”

“She was pretty lucky. She’s in shock… it still hasn’t hit her yet. There’s nothing left in the house. Everything was ruined.”

After Heche’s passing, Lynn posted a video on Instagram, expressed her grievances about her tragic passing, and sent condolences to her children.

“[They] really have suffered a great loss, and my heart goes out for them,” she said in her video. “This entire situation is tragic, and there really are just no words.”

“I’m sending love to everybody involved.”

According to People, she also posted a video clip on Thursday in which she spoke about the accident and thanked everyone for supporting her in this difficult time.

“It’s obviously been the most insane, traumatic time, confusing … eventually [I’ll] try to get back to everybody and try to read everybody’s comments. Thank you, everybody, from the bottom of my heart. It’s really, truly overwhelming. You guys really have impacted my life in a really profound way, so thank you so much, and I will keep you updated.”

After the accident, Michelle’s neighbors, John and Jennifer Durand, started a GoFundMe in her name to help her with the rebuilding of her house.

The fundraiser description read, “Lynne lives with her beautiful pups Bree and Rueban, and tortoise Marley in the Mar Vista home that was destroyed this week by a car driving into the home at a high rate of speed, catching the house on fire. “

“Lynne and her family very narrowly escaped physical harm, and for that, we are very grateful. The home, however, was completely burned.”

“Lynne lost her entire lifetime of possessions, mementos, all equipment for her business. With firefighters’ help, she was able to pull a few damaged sentimental belongings from the wreckage. Everything else is gone.”

So far, the fundraiser has raised $179,866. You can also help Michelle by donating money so that she can rebuild her house from scratch. Every single penny counts!

  1. Not to sound harsh. I think it was a terrible tragedy what happened to Anne Heche and all those involved in the accident, but I feel that Anne Heche’s family should help out with the expenses due to the damage that she caused to this women’s home and she also lost all of her personal items. Material things cannot replace a life but that is still the right thing to do.
