Ariana Grande’s now estranged husband, Dalton Gomez, is devastated because of their split and wants to reconcile.
According to Us Weekly, “Dalton has been devastated by it,” a source said. “A separation is not what he wanted. He wanted the fairy tale, happy ending, and it’s not looking that way.”
Although reports have emerged about the Thank U, Next singer that she is already planning to move on from him, Gomez wants to patch things up.
“Dalton is really hoping to make things work with Ariana. Despite the rocky patches they’ve been through, he isn’t ready to give up on their marriage,” the source added. “He saw himself spending the rest of his life with Ariana and will do anything to get past this.”
The publication also reported that Grande is all set to move on from her failed marriage with Dalton.
“As sad as it is, the consensus on both sides is that this is ultimately for the best,” said another source close to the singer. “Ariana and Dalton are two very different people.”
Earlier this week, sources close to the Thank U, Next singer, and the luxury real estate agent confirmed that they have been living separately since January 2023 but have remained ‘incredibly amicable.’
“They came to the decision together,” one insider told Page Six. “They were having problems before January, but they want to remain best friends.”
The insider also revealed that in an attempt to save their relationship, Dalton visited Ariana in London on the set of ‘wicked’, but it ‘didn’t work out.’
“They’ve been really good friends throughout the entire process, and their friends and families have been trying to protect them.”
TMZ was the first to report the breakup news.
The 7 Rings singer was recently spotted in London without her wedding band and engagement ring while enjoying the weekend at Wimbledon. She is residing in the UK for the shooting of the screen adaptation of Wicked.
“Ariana and Dalton have nothing but respect for one another. They’re still friends and want to remain that way moving forward. There was no cheating, no resentment between them, the marriage just simply didn’t work out. These things happen,” one source told Daily Mail.
A spokesperson the singer has confirmed the news. The couple tied the knot in May 2021.
“It was tiny and intimate — less than 20 people. The room was so happy and full of love,” People Magazine reported at the time. “The couple and both families couldn’t be happier.”
Grande first sparked romance rumors with Gomez in February 2020 after they were spotted together having fun with friends at a bar in Los Angeles. Later, in August 2020, a source close to them revealed that they were officially dating.

The couple made their relationship Instagram official in June 2020. However, now that they have reportedly parted ways, Grande has deleted their wedding photos from her social media.’ According to another source, the estranged couple went through a ‘rough patch’ in their marriage from which they couldn’t recover and after much thinking and mutual agreement, they have decided to end their marriage after two years.
