Brad Pitt has a heart of Gold!
The Oscar-winning actor, 59, let his elderly neighbor on his former $39 million Los Angeles estate for years after the passing of his wife.
According to PEOPLE, “The Academy Award Winner, 59, purchased the 1.9-acre property in 1994 for a reported $1.7 million from Elvira, Mistress of the Dark star Cassandra Peterson, and held onto it for nearly 30 years before finally parting ways with it for about $40 million in March.”
In a recent interview with People Magazine, the 71-year-old actress revealed that the Bullet Train alum was her neighbor for a very long time in Los Angeles.
“I think there were like 22 houses that were contiguous to the edge of the property. And every time they came up, he bought one,” she said.
As Pitt wanted to expand the footprint of his estate by acquiring the surrounding properties, he bought most of the houses in the neighborhood.
“One of the properties belonged to an elderly man in his early nineties, so Pitt made a deal that allowed him to stay in their home,” per PEOPLE.
“He was very, very kind to the husband. His wife passed away and the husband, John, lived there,” said Peterson. “I know that Brad allowed him to live there without paying anything until he died.”
“It was kind of funny because John lived to be 105.”
Cassandra joked that the arrangement continued a little longer because John ‘just kept living.’
“I imagine Brad was thinking, well, you know, he can live there till he dies, which might be any minute now.”
The actress further added that Pitt was an amazing neighbor while they lived next door to each other and said he was ‘always kind and sweet.’
“I remember he goes, “Hey, how are you?” and I’m like, “Huh?” I couldn’t talk. I was turning red. I felt like I was fainting,’ she continues. ‘He’s just so stunningly, stunningly handsome — and nice, to top it off.”
The Fury star sold his compound last month after owning and remodeling it for nearly thirty years.
“According to TMZ, Brad sold it for $ 39 million, which is a far cry from the $ 1.7 million he shelled out when he bought the home from horror icon Elvira back in 1994,” wrote Daily Mail.
“The property was originally listed for 45 million in January, but it’s unclear what led to the price drop.”
The 59-year-old movie star lived in the estate with his ex-wife, Angelina Jolie, and their six children before they split in 2016.
