A jilted bride took revenge on her cheating fiancé by reading out the saucy text messages he sent to his lover instead of her wedding vows.
Just a day before their wedding, Casey found that her husband-to-be, Alex, sent illicit text messages to another woman. So, she decided to expose his cheating in front of everyone.
In a personal essay published on Whimn, the bride revealed that she was sitting with her bridesmaids the night before the wedding when her phone buzzed from across the room, and she received screenshots of her fiancées chats from an unknown number.
“The message was a series of screenshots from a number I didn’t recognise” followed by a text which read “I wouldn’t marry him. Will you?” she wrote. “The screenshots were of conversations between my husband-to-be and another woman.”
“This weekend. You and I. It is on, hot stuff. Bring your A game,” Alex wrote in one of the messages.
“Your body is f***ing incredible. And s**t do you know how to use it. I wish my GF had half the skills you do,” read another message.
According to Casey, Alex also confessed in one of his messages that he has never had a ‘connection like this ever before with anyone else.’
After reading the messages, Casey burst into tears and told her friends everything, who insisted that she should immediately call off the wedding. But Casey thought of another plan in an attempt to teach Alex a lesson who would remember forever.
The next day Casey got ready and walked down the alter as if nothing happened.
“He had no idea what was coming,” she said. “I arrived at the front of the room, took a big breath and I faced our friends, our parents and I told them the truth about Alex.”
Then she proceeded to read out every single message that Alex had sent out to her unnamed lover behind Casey’s back – everyone became shocked.
Alex stormed out of the church looking totally busted and angry.
“There will not be a wedding reception today, but instead, there will be a celebration of honesty, finding true love and following your heart even when it hurts,” she told the crowd.
