The Bradford father, who left his partner of ten years after falling in love with a Ukrainian refugee who came over to stay at their house for a few weeks, is back to being single now!
The thirty-year-old security guard who made headlines when he left his longtime partner, Lorna, for a 22-year-old Ukrainian refugee, Sofiia, in May 2022 has now thrown her out of his house after having a furious argument on Saturday.
Garnett shares two daughters with Lorna, one six years old and the other only three.
He fell in love with a 22-year-old Ukrainian girl named Sofiia Karkadym, who had moved into the couple’s home a few months ago after fleeing her hometown of Lviv.
And within a period of two weeks, he claimed that he was in love with Sofiia. When his wife Lorna confronted him, he admitted that he had feelings for the new girl, and she also liked him.
His wife asked the Ukrainian girl to leave them alone and move out of their house, but to her surprise, her husband Tony also decided to leave with her.
In July 2022, Tony, who used to work as a security guard, told Daily Mail that he intended to marry Sofiia and even planned to start a new family with her.
“I want to propose to this beautiful lady,” he said.
“I am also planning to consult my doctors to reverse the vasectomy I had after having two children with my previous partner Lorna.” He added.
Two months later, the Bradford resident now claims that he has kicked Sofiia out of his house for her alcohol addiction and meddling issues.
“He has broken up with Sofiia and thrown her out of their rented home after accusing her of not being able to handle alcohol, using a knife to damage a wall, and interfering with his relationship with his two daughters,” per Daily Mail.
After his split with Sofiia, Garnett’s ex-wife, Lorna, 28, spoke to her friends and told them that she saw it coming.
Speaking to The Sun, one of Lorna’s friends shared that she would never get back with Tony.
“I wouldn’t have him back in a million years,” Lorna told her friend. “I knew it would end in disaster for them — I just didn’t think it would come after only four months.”
“He has thrown away so much. He can’t see me because of a restraining order, and he hasn’t been seeing the children. But it’s hard to feel any sympathy.”
The friend also told The Sun that currently, the mother-of-two is only focusing on her daughters and their wellbeing.
Meanwhile, Tony spoke to Daily Mail and claimed that he is done with Sofiia, for good!
“I am 100 percent through with her. We are finished as a couple. I can’t take her abuse or anger any longer. I left Lorna and my two children for her, and I made every extra effort I could to help her keep us together.
“I worked so hard to make this relationship work. I knew that we would look like tw*ts if we broke up because we have a media profile and all the attention that has been put on us on television and on the internet.”
“I also genuinely felt sorry for her,” he added. “She left her home and her country which was at war and knew nobody here.”
“Yes, I felt and I thought I was in love with her. But there is a side to her that I just cannot put up with any longer. She gets angry and aggressive. On Saturday night she picked up a knife and stabbed the wall several times.”
“It really scared me and I had no choice but to call the police. That doesn’t make me happy at all. But I was worried about my safety.”
“I have made a mistake going into a relationship with Sofiia.”
