The story of an adorable young man who took his father’s place when her sister needed a “real man” became viral on the internet and for all the right reasons. An elder brother came to the rescue of his 7-year-old baby sister when their dad stood her up on the evening of their father-daughter dance performance.

On February 29, a post went viral on Facebook in which a mother named Trelysia Hamerter shared that her daughter’s father failed to show up for their father-daughter dance for the second time in a row.

“This is the 2nd year that he stood her up for the Daddy-daughter dance,” Hamerter wrote on Facebook, she said her daughter ‘Skylar’ was extremely heartbroken for being stood up by her father, again.

While talking to Today Trelysia shared that this year Skylar came to her and said, “Mommy, I want my dad to come with me to the dance. I don’t want grandpa. I want my dad, I want everyone to know that I have a dad,” “She was very emotional at that moment.” Added Trelysia.

Skylar wanted to prove to her fellows that she also had a caring father who was very much involved in her life. Her mother said. She shared about her son’s troubling experiences with friends, highlighting how difficult it can be to navigate social circles at such a young age. The challenges he faced often left him feeling isolated, and she wished to provide him with the support he needed. Understanding these issues helped her appreciate the importance of being present and involved in her child’s life.

So she called him and told him everything about the day and her performance. “She was very excited when her father told her that he would be there for her and they will dance together. “He said he would be happy to dance with her,” said Trelysia.

Just a day before the dance was to be held, her father stopped responding to her phone calls. She said she knew that he wouldn’t come as it had become apparent. “He was not answering her calls, no reply to the dozens of the messages that my daughter sent her. I knew he was lying and didn’t plan to come, at all’’

“She cried because she had her heart set on going,” Trelysia continued. “I felt so bad because there was nothing I could do about it as I am not her ‘father’ and it was him that she wanted on that particular day as it was a ‘father-daughter’ dance performance.”

“I was heartbroken as well because my daughter was going to miss the dance for the second year in a row.” the mom explained.

So, a day before the dance, Hamerter’s 11-year-old son Christian became aware of the whole situation and decided to take their father’s place.

She said “My son who is only eleven years old stood up and said that he is going to take his sister to the dance and that she is not going to miss it this time. He said that his sister deserves a man who can keep his words.” she wrote in the post. mom supports her son’s bravery. It takes a lot of courage to stand up for someone you care about, especially at such a young age. She believes that these moments will shape his character and instill values that will stay with him for a lifetime.

“Y’all I literally cried,” Trylesia added.

Skylar’s father never showed, so Christian accompanied her to the dance and showed her classmates that Skylar has the best brother in the world.

Hamerter was very proud of her son’s loving gesture for his baby sister.

“Just know,” she said, “that I’m raising someone a GREAT HUSBAND one day.”
