According to People Magazine, Captain America has officially earned the title of ‘the Sexiest Man Alive in 2022’ for all the right reasons.
Christopher Robert Evans, popularly known as Chris Evans, is one of Hollywood’s biggest heartthrobs and is loved by millions around the world.
The actor began his career with a TV series in 2000 and appeared in several teen films, including fierce People, The Perfect Score, Push, and Not Another Teen Movie.
Evans first appeared in a Marvel movie in 2005 when he was selected to play the role of The Human Torch in Fantastic Four and its sequel Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.
He also acted in film adaptations of comic books and graphic novels TMNT, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, and Snowpiercer.
Ultimately, Chris landed the iconic role of Captain America/Steve Rogers in the Marvel movie series and received worldwide recognition for his remarkable portrayal of the superhero.
Today Evans is one of the highest-paid actors in Hollywood, and rightly so!
On Monday, November 8, People Magazine announced that Evans, 41 is officially the Sexiest Man Alive for this year. He took the crown from last year’s winner, Paul Rudd.
Speaking to the publication, the Gray Man actor said he’s anticipating playful harassment from his friends and knows that his mom will love the news.
“She’s proud of everything I do, but this is something she can really brag about,” he said.
“This whole thing is tough to be interviewed about. It feels like a weird form of humble bragging,” he added.
Chris’s mom also spoke to People and told the magazine that she wasn’t a bit surprised by the news.
“I am not surprised at all,” she said. “Our family will be beside themselves.”
When Chris was asked about his work-life balance, he said he is too old to live outside a suitcase.
“When it comes to seeking out the people I play it’s more of an issue of where the movie shoots. I’m too old to be living out of a suitcase for six months and I’ve settled into a nicer phase where I’m just happy being at home.”
The Fantastic Four actor also said he is looking forward to a future with a good life partner and kids.
“That’s absolutely something I want,” he said. “Some things you want just for you, or just for my family and my friends.
He added, “The most enjoyable aspect of my career right now is feeling secure enough to take my foot off the gas. I feel like I have a bit more freedom to take time away from the industry and still find projects that will satisfy my creative appetite when I return.”
When the interviewer asked Chris about his thoughts on his beloved hometown of Boston, he replied,
“So much history there! I love the accent. To me, the accent is home,” he said. “I love the weather. The seasons, the sports teams. But the sexiest thing about Boston… maybe our universities. We’ve got a lot of good schools. Let’s give education a plug, that’s damn sexy.”
The Marvel star also said people shouldn’t expect him to use the word ‘sexy’ for himself in a sentence.
“It is something that as I become old and saggy I can look back on and say ‘I remember then…’ I’m lucky to be in the discussion in any capacity.”
