Coronavirus has become an epidemic; it’s slowly moving towards a pandemic as it reaches the farthest corners of the world. In this time, we need to take every precautionary step possible. Coronavirus causes a disease called COVID-19, which is a type of respiratory illness (pneumonia.) People with low immunity are most affected by this virus. This new strain of virus originated from Wuhan, China, in December of 2019.

This article is going to focus on what you should do if your partner is showing signs and symptoms of COVID-19:

1. Be a pillar of support.

I can’t stress this point enough – your partner needs you now more than ever. Individuals who have COVID-19 are quarantined until they recover. Throughout that quarantine period, they’re going to feel alone and confused. Stay on the phone, talk to them, and make them feel okay. This disease has a very low fatality rate, which makes this a little easier to fight. And hope keeps us healthy, so give them all the hope you can.

2. Don’t panic.

I know it’s easier said than done, but panicking never helps. In this challenging time, you need to be a devoted and robust individual. This is an epidemic, soon to be pandemic, the whole world is facing this treacherous virus together. Don’t feel alone and don’t panic, be on your guard, and be hopeful. Your partner is going to get treated and come back. Now is not the time to panic, but the time to show support.

3. Take care of yourself.

Make sure you don’t forget your health during this time; this is vital. Always remember to stay hydrated, keep your facemask on when you’re out and about, avoid going out when it’s not completely necessary for now. Until humanity can figure out proper treatment for this disease and a way to stop the spread, we need to take care of ourselves and each other.

4. Stay informed.

The World Health Organization has created a whole portal for this sole purpose – to spread information and awareness for COVID-19 and novel Coronavirus. You should bookmark it for later. Check it out here.
