Finley and Harper are at the center of a nasty custody battle after their mother’s tragic passing on Thursday.
It has been reported that their father and Lisa Marie’s 4th Ex-husband, Michael Lockwood, is taking the battle to court saying that “it’ll be a cold day in hell before he gives up custody of those children.”
“Lockwood currently holds 40 percent custody of the twins, Finley and Harper, who had been living with Lisa Marie at the time of her death. She held majority custody at 60 percent,” per Daily Mail.
According to TMZ, things could take a bitter turn from here as Presley’s first husband and the father of her first two kids could also fight for the custody of the girls as he sees himself as their stepdad.
“Keough and Lockwood don’t get along — in part because of all the bad blood that was stirred up during Lockwood and Presley’s nasty 5-year divorce battle during which charges of drug use and child abuse were tossed around,” The Post quoted.
“Keough might make a bid for custody. So could Lisa Marie’s mother, Priscilla, and the twins’ 33-year-old half-sister, actress Riley Keough.”
“The judge could also ask the girls their preference as to who they live with,” per TMZ.
Lockwood and Presley welcomed their twins in 2008 before the couple dramatically parted ways in 2016.
According to Daily Mail, the former couple was still fighting for their finances after their bitter legal battle that started in 2016.
“He was seeking $40,000 a month in child support and insisted she had more money than she claimed in court documents.”
“Amid the divorce proceedings with Lockwood, she temporarily lost custody of her twin daughters, who went to live with her mother, Priscilla.”
“In a 2017 deposition, a year after the acrimonious split, she admitted to abusing cocaine, opioids, painkillers, and alcohol.”
Lisa died after a cardiac arrest at her Calabasas, California, home, where she lived with her mother.
Earlier on Thursday, The 54-year-old singer and songwriter collapsed at her Calabasas home, and TMZ reported that she had suffered a ‘full cardiac arrest.’
A few sources told the outlet that paramedics arrived at her place after the Lights Out singer collapsed at her residence and performed CPR on her.
The medical team regained a pulse and immediately transferred her to the nearby hospital via ambulance.
“EMTs responded to a call reporting a possible cardiac arrest at Presley’s home in Calabasas, Calif., and upon arrival, paramedics performed CPR on the 54-year-old and administered epinephrine.”
“Her mother Priscilla was seen arriving at the hospital, to support her daughter, an hour after reports of the medical episode,” Daily Mail reported.
The singer has suffered various health issues in the past few years, and in one of her public appearances, she even admitted that she was ‘grateful’ for being alive.
The mom-of-four had a drug addiction problem in the past which she reportedly developed after the birth of her twin daughters, Harper and Finley, in 2008, according to The Mirror.
