Never be easy because your love isn’t something that should be easy to earn. Remember that love and relationships were never designed to be easy and that you would be cheating your way into a romance if you just gave people your love a little too easily. You should never allow yourself to be an easy target. Yes, it’s great to share and give love to all of the people around you. That would make the world a much better place. But you shouldn’t be falling in love with every single you meet because it’s going to take away from the experience of falling in love for real.
Sometimes, you have to make your partner work just a little harder to earn your love. You shouldn’t have to feel bad or guilty about making people work for your love. They have to earn it. They have to know that your love isn’t something that can be tossed out like garbage; it’s not something that can be handed out like charity. They have to know that they really must earn a spot in your life. They have to really work hard at being worthy of your attention and your affection. Remember that all the best things in life don’t come easy, and you always have to make sure that you reserve yourself only for the best of the best.
The best way to really know if a person’s intentions are pure is if you actually try to see if they are willing to work hard for your love. The harder they work for your love, the better off the both of you will be in the relationship. If someone is willing to work so hard to earn your love, then that person is going to work twice as hard to keep your love; that person is going to work twice as hard to make sure that your relationship lasts. If you dole out your love a little too easily, then it might lead people to think that they can grow complacent with you. They might see you as a person who is expendable; easily replaceable.
So never allow yourself to be an easy target for love. Let people know that you are a kind and loving person but never let them think that you are easy. Let them know that you value your own dignity and you know your own worth as a person. Let people know that the path to earning your love isn’t going to be an easy one, but that it’s definitely going to be worth it. Let them know that they really have to work their butts off to win you over, and that they have to work just as hard to keep you in their lives. Let them know just how amazing it would be to earn your love and what a waste it would be to let you slip right through their fingertips.
Let people know that your love isn’t a joke. Always make sure that people understand that love for you is always going to be a serious matter; and that when people manage to earn your love, they know that it’s for real. They know that you’re really committed and that you’re in it for the long haul. When you make yourself too easy, people aren’t going to take you seriously. They’re going to think that you take a casual approach to all relationships that you’re in. They will assume that you just nonchalantly waltz your way into a lot of relationships and they might not think that you will be a person who is worth keeping.
But if you keep yourself somewhat guarded, if you make them hustle a little bit for your heart, then they won’t end up underestimating you. They won’t end up taking your love for granted because they will know just how hard it was for them to earn it. They won’t end up abusing or manipulating you because they know that you won’t stand for any of that. You will keep them walking on eggshells around you because they won’t want to upset you in any manner. A lot of people will call you a snob, but you shouldn’t let that affect you. You shouldn’t be settling for any love story that is beneath you anyway. You deserve the love that you think you deserve.
So don’t settle. Don’t be easy. Don’t be so quick to jump into relationships. Let people know that if they want to win you over, they are going to have to be special. They are going to have to know how to set themselves apart. They are going to have to really work it. You aren’t an easy person to win over. And you aren’t going to be an easy person to let go of.
