John Schneider, the actor known for his role in the popular 1980s series “Dukes of Hazzard,” has shared the news of his wife Alicia’s passing. She was 53 years old.
Earlier reports stated that Alicia discovered she had breast cancer in 2019 upon discovering lesions on her skin; however, Schneider and the family did not confirm the cause of her death.
Paying tribute to his dearly departed wife, the 62-year-old actor wrote, “My beautiful Smile is pain free, living in her new body alongside Jesus.” In that initial post, Schneider also asked his fans to “hug those you love tight and let them know how you feel. We always did.”
In a longer post to Facebook, Scneider wrote, “This is a time of unimaginable sorrow for me. Grief is much too small a word. I’ve heard it said that “with great love comes great sorrow.” I had no idea what that meant until now.”
“Alicia was the fuel that ran my biggest dreams. The inspiration behind every creative thought. The very fabric of my soul. The glue that held me together,” he wrote, adding, “I miss her more than any words could possibly describe.”
“Thank you Lord for sharing the gift of Alicia with me. I‘ll never be the same and I know that, somehow, we are still and will always be the ‘Team To Beat,’” he concluded.
Although Alicia Allain had a brief stint as an actress during the 1990s, her most significant contributions to Hollywood were as a producer with her company, Maven Entertainment. Over the years, she produced more than 20 films, with two projects still awaiting release. In addition to her work in film production, she was also involved in music production and had notable skills as a hairstylist, with eleven makeup credits to her name.
In 2015, she crossed paths with Schneider, and they tied the knot four years later.
In January 2020, Alicia and John made an appearance on Fox & Friends, during which Schneider referred to Alicia as his “miracle” wife.
Alicia informed Fox of her stage 4 HER2 negative cancer diagnosis, with a prognosis of only a few years left to live. However, she remained optimistic about overcoming the illness after undergoing multiple treatments.
Alicia’s daughter, Jessica, her stepdaughter, Karis, and a granddaughter survive her.
Following the destruction of their Louisiana home during Hurricane Ida in September 2021, John and Alicia were still in the process of recovering. Schneider posted a distressing photo of his Dukes General Lee cars among fallen trees in the aftermath of the storm.
Schneider expressed strong criticism of President Biden and stated that he should not visit Louisiana due to his divisive comments toward many of the state’s voters.
