Eddie Murphy agrees to pay child support to his ex-girlfriend Mel B

Eddie Murphy has granted Mel B’s 15-year-old daughter child support.

It is expected that the actor will now pay $35,000 per month in child support to his daughter Angel Iris Murphy Brown, an increase of $10,000.

After a short fling between the pair, the former Spice Girl announced in 2007 that she had given birth to a baby girl, saying the Come to America star was her father.

Although he initially denied the unborn child was his during the pregnancy, DNA tests soon cleared that up and revealed he was indeed the dad.

Murphy is paying child support for their 15-year-old daughter, even though they had a fight over money and visitation rights.

In 2015, the former Spice Girl sought more financial assistance from the government.

The Daily Mail obtained court documents showing the parents have agreed to a new child support arrangement after Mel’s income changed.

The singer had been receiving $25,000 a month since Murphy settled his paternity battle with her in February 2009. That works out to $300,000 a year.

The court documents say: “The parties agree that Respondent (Murphy) is an ‘extraordinarily high earner,’

“The amount of child support set forth hereinbelow has been calculated based on the reasonable needs of the minor child…

“Commencing October 1, 2021, as and for child support for the benefit of Angel, Respondent shall pay to Petitioner the sum of $35,000 per month.

“Child support shall be payable via wire transfer, and shall be due on the first calendar day of each month.”

The filing states that Brown will be responsible for any additional costs.

In addition to health care and education expenses, health insurance and extracurricular activities can also be included in this category.

The agreement is a ‘non-guideline child support order‘, which means ‘a material change of circumstances’ is not required for modification.

The papers requesting extra child support were filed by Mel B in October 2020, citing her declining income.

It said: “Until recently, Melanie has been fortunate in her career to sustain a comfortable lifestyle for herself and Angel. Unfortunately, Melanie’s income has dramatically reduced, such that she must consider modifying child support for the first time.”

Angel was born on Mel’s 46th birthday, April 3, 2007.

DNA testing confirmed Murphy’s fatherhood on June 22, 2007.

It was reported that Murphy initially didn’t care much for his daughter, claiming she had tricked him into getting pregnant.

The situation changed in 2017, however.
