Two of the biggest stars in the rap industry were once rumored to be dating each other and even shared love notes on Instagram. However, despite the fact that they would have made an impressive celebrity power couple, the two had never dated.
But there was a time back in 2018 when rumors emerged about them dating, and the musicians even flirted on social media, and at one point, Minaj even appeared to confirm to her fans that she and Slim Shady were dating.
Similarly, at one of his concerts in May 2018, the Mockingbird rapper took fans by surprise and asked them if he should date the Trinidadian rapper.
In viral footage on YouTube, Eminem could be heard saying to his fans in the crowd at the Boston Calling Music Festival, “Man, hold on wait. I just thought of something.”
“I just want to take this time out right now to give a shout to my bae Nicki Minaj,” he continued. “Sweetheart, I’ll be home tonight – we’ll figure this s*** out.”
“Yo, Boston. How many people in here want me to date Nicki Minaj?” he asked.
Totally surprised by his question, the crowd started shouting and chanting their names at the top of their lungs.
“Hold on,” the rapper said. “So wait, one more time. Let me make sure so I can actually make this official – how many people in Boston want me to date Nicki Minaj?”
When he pointed the mic toward his fans, everybody started cheering and gave him a go-ahead.
“Well, g**dammit me too!” he exclaimed.
“Nicki, if you get this message, just text me later we’ll talk about it.” he added.
The clip went viral, and fans went wild in the comment section and rooted for the two rappers to get into a relationship immediately.
“I love that probably the best rapper we’ve seen in 20 years always has a sense of humor and is cool and collected about his ego. He never grabs for any image. He’s just him. That’s why we love him,” one wrote.
“They would’ve been THE POWER COUPLE OF THE CENTURY,” a second said.
“He deserves the same happiness his music has brought! My life Wouldn’t be the same without it. Go For It take a chance. & if it didn’t work out we’d probably get some bad ass songs out of it,” a third added.
“I want them to have babies that would be so awesome,” another said.
