Eminem’s ‘Forgotten’ Daughter is Living a Happy Life Away from Spotlight

Over the years, the American rapper has revealed much about his personal life and relationships. Everybody knows about his eldest daughter, Hailie, whom he mentioned in his lyrics several times.

But not many people are aware of Eminem’s adopted daughter, Alaina Marie Mathers.

The 29-year-old has also been a part of some of his father’s song lyrics but never came into the spotlight.

The Real Slim Shady rapper adopted Alaina with his ex-wife Kim Scott. Alaina is the biological daughter of Scott’s twin sister. She was born in 1993, and her original name was Amanda.

According to The Mirror, “Alaina, who was born Amanda Marie Scott in February 1993, grew up with her cousin Hailie, who became her adoptive sister because her biological mother battled drug addiction before sadly passing away in 2015.”

In 2004, Eminem talked about his adopted daughter in an interview and said,

“My niece has been a part of my life ever since she was born. Me and Kim pretty much had her, she’d live with us wherever we was at.”

After opening up about his relationship with Alaina in 2004, the singer started mentioning her in his songs and called her by her nickname, Lainey.

In one of his songs, Mockingbird, Eminem sang, “Lainey, uncle’s crazy ain’t he, yeah but he loves you girl, and you better know it.”

He also revealed that his two girls were getting along well and becoming sisters. “And Daddy’s still here, Lainey I’m talking to you too, Daddy’s still here. I like the sound of that, yeah, it’s got a ring to it, don’t it?”

Later in his song, Crazy in Love, the musician wrote, “You’re the Slim to my Shady. The Dre to my Eminem, the Alaina to my Hailie”.

Slim Shady also adopted another girl named Stevie, who was his then-wife Kim’s biological daughter from one of her previous relationships.

In 2019, he said that his three children are his most significant accomplishment in life.

“It definitely is crazy. I have a niece that I have helped raise too that’s pretty much like a daughter to me and she is 26. And I have a younger one that’s 17 now.

“So when I think about my accomplishments that’s probably the thing I’m the most proud of is being able to raise kids.”

As per The Mirror, Alaina graduated from the University of Oakland in 2017 as a student of Public Relations.

“Can’t believe on Saturday I (finally) graduate. None of this would have been possible without the help and love of my parents. Thankful is an understatement,” she wrote on Instagram.

The 29-year-old uses Instagram to promote body positivity and advocate mental health and how people should take it seriously.

Today, Alaina lives a wholesome life in Detriot with her boyfriend, Matt Moeller; they got engaged in December 2021 after dating each other for seven years.

She often shares pictures of her dogs with her nearly 70K followers on Instagram and also posts about her lavish trips to other countries along with her fiancé.

Alaina often speaks about her relationship with her biological parents on her public account.

“I didn’t start calling my aunt and uncle mum and dad until I was older, but having a meshed family is what’s always been normal to me,” she once wrote.

“Side note; just because you birth a child or provide the sperm for a child doesn’t make you a parent.

“Some people think Mom and Dad titles should be earned. I always called my bio Mom and Dad, Mom and Dad but I respect if your ‘parents’ weren’t there if you don’t call them that. Boundaries is key.”

After the passing of her biological mother, Dawn in 2016, Alaina shared a message for her on Mother’s Day and wrote,

“Ya know, life is a funny thing. Never spent a Mother’s Day with my Mom in my entire life and now that I can’t I wish more than anything I could.

She added, “Always missing you a lot during this time of the year, Mom. Can’t believe you would have been 43 in 3 days.”
