Olivia Culpo is an American model, actress, and social media influencer. After winning the 2012 Miss Rhode Island USA competition in the first pageant, Olivia also won the titles of Miss USA and Miss Universe.
The model and social media personality recently opened up about her relationship with singer and songwriter Nick Jonas.
In her new reality show, the former Miss Universe revealed her personal and financial struggles during her relationship and break-up with the Jonas Brothers singer.
The latest episode of The Culpo Sisters was aired on November 7, where Olivia candidly talked about her two-year relationship with Nick.
“Do I have to talk about that?” she said, “I did date Nick, and that was a very formative experience for me.”
“I moved to L.A. with him. I had no brand, no money, and I was in love. That was great, but when he broke up with me, I was left with no sense of identity,” she added.
The 30-year-old former Rhode native said she was hoping to marry the Only Human singer when he ended their relationship, leaving her heartbroken.
“My whole identity was in him,” she continued, “which is a very common story of a young person in love. I thought we were going to get married, I thought all the things, and I just remember night after night looking up at the ceiling in my apartment that I couldn’t afford thinking to myself how am I going to pay my rent.”
Culpo confessed that she was so low on finances that she couldn’t even afford to buy groceries at that time, “I couldn’t even afford my groceries. It was a serious, pivotal moment for me, but it was something that taught me that you can’t give up.”
After their split, the former pageant queen opened up about her feelings in an emotional post on Instagram and wrote,
“Your heart just breaks, that’s all,” she wrote in June 2015. “Heartbreak is hard but you find more and more things to be grateful for every day.”
The reality star ultimately moved on from Jonas and is currently in a happy relationship with San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey – the pair started dating in 2019.
Nick Jonas is also happily married to Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra and shares one daughter with her.
Before McCaffrey, Culpo also dated football players Danny Danny Amendola, Tim Tebow, and swimmer Ryan Lochte. Later she made a ‘no more athletes’ rule and fell for Christian McCaffrey.
“He’s just the best, I feel like he is really everything that I could ever ask for,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “So I never have to worry about anything. I think that was the reason why I didn’t want to date an athlete, no offense because there is a reputation there.”
“He just comes from a great family. We have a lot in common in that respect. I feel like you can really tell who a person is by the people that raise them, and I just love his parents so much. They have a great relationship.”
