Adam Sandler is an American comedian, actor, screenwriter, and producer. Before becoming a famous movie star in Hollywood, Sandler worked as a cast member on Saturday Night Live from 1990 to 1995.
His notable projects include Grown Up, Hustle, Just Go with It, Uncut Gems, Happy Gilmore, 50 First Dates, and Big Daddy.
During his career, Adam has worked alongside prominent actresses in Hollywood, including Jennifer Anniston, Drew Barrymore, and Winona Ryder.
The former SNL star first met his wife, model, and actress, Jackie Titone, on the set of his film Big Daddy.
48-year-old Jackie began his career as a model and later appeared in several movies alongside her husband, such as Grown Ups, Just Go with It, 50 First Dates, The Benchwarmers, and Murder Mystery.
According to People Magazine, Sandler and the former model first locked eyes on the set of Big Daddy when she appeared as a waitress and took his order in the local sports bar.
In August 2020, the Murder Mystery actor posted a tribute on Instagram for his wife and wrote,
“22 years ago today we locked eyes and fell deep. Looking forward to the next 22, young lady. Love you my forever girl.”
The pair fell in love after their first encounter and have been together ever since. In June 2003, they tied the knot in an outdoor Jewish Ceremony in Malibu.
“Following the wedding, PEOPLE reported there was one special guest in attendance alongside the couple’s celebrity friends: Adam’s dog, Meatball, who donned a black tuxedo jacket for the big event.”
Their wedding was as many celebrities and Adam’s costars, including Jennifer Anniston, Rodney Dangerfield, and Sharon Osbourne.
Before their marriage, the Happy Gilmore actor spoke to ABC News and revealed that he was very nervous before popping the question to Titone.
“I played basketball that afternoon, trying to calm down, and then I was driving. I was saying stuff out loud and trying to, you know, make sure I hit all of the right things so she would remember nice stuff, and I did all right,” he said.
“She called her grandmother right after, and her mother, and they all said, yeah, I heard the applause over the phone and stuff.”
After three years of marriage, Adam and Jackie welcomed their first child, daughter Sadie. The actor announced the good news and said, “Kid is healthy!! Wife is healthy!!”
In 2006 Sandler appeared in an interview with Access Hollywood and said, “When my kid was born, I was so nervous, I didn’t know what I felt.”
“Five minutes later, maybe 10 minutes later, it was me and the kid and a nurse. We walked down alone to just check the vital signs and all that stuff, and I had a chemical reaction in my body, where I loved the kid so much, and I was so nervous for her, and that’s when I lost my mind for the kid.”
The duo became parents for the second time in 2008 – their daughter Sunny was born in November 2008.
The girls also appeared in a few movies alongside their father, including Hubie Halloween, Hotel Transylvania, and Murder Mystery.
In 2020, Sandler appeared on The Drew Barrymore Show and said his daughters were very excited when they first got to know they were going to appear in a movie with him.
“They make it look like I’m forcing them to do it. Meanwhile, they were asking me the whole damn year, ‘Can I be in your next movie, Daddy?’”
In September 2022, Adam was featured in the cover story for AARP The Magazine and disclosed his secret to a happy marriage.
“Jackie and I like spending time with each other,” he said. “We try to make each other laugh, try to listen, try to include each other, try to support each other. We try our best — that’s all. And we don’t ever think of not being together. We always talk about our future together.”
