Furious Mum Got Her Daughter’s Favorite Daycare Teacher Fired Because She Kept Cuddling Her All Day

A mother got her eight-month-old daughter’s daycare teacher fired because she wouldn’t stop cuddling her all day.

In a post on Kidspot, the mum explained that she sent her baby girl to daycare four days a week and had a favorite teacher there. However, the teacher won’t ever stop hugging and kissing her, which made the mum uneasy.

In her post, the mum explained the educator wouldn’t let the other teachers touch her daughter and called her ‘my baby.’

“So my eight-month-old baby goes to daycare four days a week,” she said.

“I like the girls that work there, but there’s one particular girl that I just don’t really like. I didn’t care about her until one day when I was speaking to the director, I could see her holding my daughter and kissing all over her face. Yes, my daughter was smiling and looked happy, but I was disgusted.”

“I just felt it was too far. I brought it up to the director and she turned around shocked and said she would talk to the worker.”

“I was picking up my daughter a few weeks ago and the teacher wasn’t there. I was speaking to another worker in the room and asked her who my daughter’s favourite was. She told me it was the [teacher] and that my baby is her favourite and ‘her baby’, and no one else can hold her,” she added.

“I was more creeped out. [But] what sent me over the edge was when I was picking up my daughter last week who was asleep on the worker’s lap when I walked in and as she handed her to me, she kissed my daughter on the forehead and said she was gonna miss her so much.”

But when she went to the daycare the next day, she found that the teacher wasn’t moved but was fired.

When her sister-in-law learned about the situation from her, she called her out and said she overreacted.

“She said I overreacted, and I shouldn’t have complained about something so dumb. And that I should be grateful someone really loves my daughter.”

“She said she worked in a daycare throughout college and it’s normal to have a favourite baby and that she herself had a baby she loved in her centre. She said I overreacted, and I shouldn’t have complained about something so dumb. And that I should be grateful someone really loves my daughter.”

Reacting to the story, people had different opinions about the mum’s doing. While some defended her and said she did the right thing, others called her out for her overreaction.

“Hugs yes kisses hell no. And fact she never let others have the child. I work in childcare and even to me that’s creepy,” one wrote.

“Obsession and talking of “possession by saying my baby and not allowing other carers to hold her” is NOT love and it’s completely unprofessional,” a second said.

“I wouldn’t be thrilled I would of done the same thing as this mum has. She wanted to her relocated not fired. The child care has protocols and this worker didn’t follow them and clearly refused to listen so it’s no surprise she lost her job,” a third commented.

“I’d be thrilled my baby was being shown loving, maternal behaviours while I wasn’t there and that my I was lucky enough to have a baby healthy enough to go to childcare to begin with. The baby is not going to remember that worker but they will have learnt that affection is important,” another said.

“If the daycare provider is showing so much love, it should make the mom feel good about it. Especially if the baby is showing happiness, I am a daycare provider and I give the kids hugs. I think the mom was jealous over how much the baby was showing happiness towards the provider, it’s pretty stupid to fire someone over the love she shows the parent’s child, baby isn’t being abused,” someone else said.
