The actress who played Gina Rodriguez in the CW series is expecting her first child with her husband, Joe LoCicero. During her 38th birthday celebration on July 30, she announced she was pregnant on Instagram.
“This birthday hits different,” she wrote with a montage of romantic moments, including a selfie showing her holding a positive home pregnancy test.
Celebs like Viola Davis, Andy Grammer, and Edwin Hodge congratulated Gina, who directed Good Sam.
Her co-stars on Our Family Wedding and Kajillionaire were Diana Maria Riva, Joseph Julian Soria, Arielle Kebbel, who appeared on a 2018 episode of The Talk, and Derek Hough, who appeared on a 2016 Jane the Virgin episode also expressed their best wishes.
Gina’s pregnancy announcement video is set to Calum Scott’s 2018 song “You Are The Reason” and contains the spoken quote, “Anyone can want you, but the love hits different when someone actually values you.”
After their red carpet debut as a couple, Gina and Joe, 35, married three years later.
