It’s been six years since Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner called it quits; the couple started dating in 2004 after he called off his first engagement with Lopez.
After going out for one year, the two tied the knot in 2005. However, the former couple called it quits after spending ten years together in 2015, and their divorce was finalized in 2018.
Garner and Affleck first met in 2003 during the shooting of Daredevil. After falling in love with Garner, Ben proposed to her on her 33rd birthday, and they got married two months later.
The wedding ceremony was gigantic, and reportedly, only four people attended it, including their witnesses and officiant, Victor Garber.
By the end of 2005, the former couple welcomed their first child, Violet, on December 1. Jennifer and Ben share three children, two girls, and one boy.
After staying together for almost a decade, the duo announced their divorce just a day after their 10th anniversary.
In December 2016, the Justice League actor opened up about his split with Garner and said that he would never talk trash about Garner.
“I would never want my kids to think I would ever say a bad word about their mom,” he told host Jimmy Kimmel on his live show.
The dad of three explained that he previously made a few comments on The Howard Stern show, and people have perceived them negatively.
“In his interview with Stern, the actor explained, ‘I had gone on and said how much we respect each other and cared about each other and cared about our kids and put them first. However, there was this specific part of the interview that gained public attention and made me look like the worst, most insensitive, stupid awful guy.’” Wrote People.
Ben candidly spoke with Stern, “I’d probably still be drinking. It’s part of why I started drinking … because I was trapped. I was like ‘I can’t leave ’cause of my kids, but I’m not happy. What do I do?’ What I did was drink a bottle of scotch and fall asleep on the couch, which turned out not to be the solution.”
Explaining his remarks later on the Jimmy Kimmel Show, Ben said that he didn’t mean to insult Garner as he could never think of doing that.
“That’s not true. I don’t believe that. It’s the exact opposite of who I am, what I believe.”
After staying in the news and limelight for quite a long time, eventually, the duo decided to stay friends and co-parent their children in the best possible way.
Recently, Affleck tied the knot with her longtime sweetheart Jennifer Lopez; they got married on July 16, 2022, in Las Vegas.
Although Garner had kept her love life extremely private after parting ways with Ben, reports revealed that the actress is in a happy relationship with John Miller, the CEO of CaliGrouple.
According to the US Weekly, the couple broke up temporarily in 2020 but patched up the following year in 2021. And now, they are stronger than ever.
“Jen and John are back on – It started up a few weeks ago.” A source revealed in May 2021.
Reports say that the Miracles from Heaven actress was enjoying her time in her new house in Los Angeles with John while her three kids are having a blast with their dad and his new wife in Paris.
