Hailey Baldwin, now famous as Hailey Bieber, is an American model and socialite who’s been featured in major ads for big brands like Guess, Tommy Hilfiger, and Ralph Lauren.
The 25-year-old model has been married to the famous teenage sensation Justin Bieber since 2018.
“The couple tied the knot in September 2018 at a New York City courthouse and held a second, more traditional ceremony with friends and family in South Carolina a year later.”
Recently, she appeared on the Call Her Daddy podcast with Alex Cooper and addressed the claims of stealing Bieber from his ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez.
“People were obsessed with [Justin and Selena] being together. Were you ever with Justin romantically at the same time as her?” host Alex Cooper asked Hailey.
“No, not once,” she replied. “When he and I started hooking up, or anything of that sort, he was not in any relationship, It’s not my character to mess with someone’s relationship, I was raised better than that.”
“I understand how it looks from the outside, but that was a situation where I know for a fact that it was the right thing for [Justin and Selena] to close that door, but of course, there’s a very long history there and I respect that a lot.”
“I don’t want to talk on either one of their behalf’s,” she said.
Justin and Selena dated on and off for almost a decade, and fans were crazy about their union.
“The pop stars first met as young teenagers in 2009, after Bieber admitted that the ‘Good for You’ singer was his celebrity crush. Under the guise of close friends, the pair went on to quietly date for several months before making their public debut as a couple at the Vanity Fair Oscars party in February 2011,” per PEOPLE.
When the Canadian singer called it quits with Gomez in 2016 and started dating Hailey, Jelena fans slammed the model and called her the ‘reason’ behind their breakup.
“A lot of the hate comes from like ‘oh you stole him’ and the fact that he wished he ended up with someone else. And that’s fine, you can wish that all you want, but it’s not the case.”
“There’s a certain numbness that you get,” she told Alex on the Podcast.
“It still happens to this day, if I was to go live right now, it would still be happening. You reach a point where you have to ignore it,” Hailey added.
“If we have moved on, why can’t you?”
Previously, on a few occasions, Hailey shared that she gets a lot of hate from people because of coming in the middle of Justin and Selena; however, she tries her best to ignore it all.
“Enough time has gone by,” Hailey said in April 2022. “I’m minding my business. I don’t do anything, I don’t say anything. Leave me alone, please.” – Page Six.
“I beg of you. Truly. That’s my only request. Be miserable somewhere else, please.”
In 2020, in an interview with Ashley Graham, Hailey said that she didn’t date the ghost singer when he was in a romantic relationship with Gomez.
“People don’t know, too, we had been talking for a while before we got back together. Contrary to popular belief, he had been single for a while, and I had been single, and we were kind of just trying to figure life out.”
