Heavily Tattooed Dad Faces Backlash, Branded a ‘Horrible Father’

Expressing oneself is a fundamental aspect of being an individual. Tattoos serve as a wonderful medium for people to convey their identity through art. Richard Huff, a 51-year-old individual, has embraced tattoos as his chosen means of self-expression, boasting an impressive collection of over 240 tattoos.

Richard Huff, a self-proclaimed ink addict, is a family man with a wife and five children. His wife frequently shares videos and pictures of their family, though the response from viewers is not always positive. Despite the online criticism, the 51-year-old emphasizes that their family is “no different” from any other. He has experienced mockery from strangers online due to his appearance.

Huff revealed that his journey with tattoos began as a personal choice that turned into an addiction. He started with his legs and gradually worked his way up. Currently, approximately 85% of his body is covered in tattoos. Notably, his tattoos include the names of his children and even his daughter’s lips.

“It became an addiction, I started with my legs and worked my way up,” he said. “I want to be 100% covered in tattoos probably within the next four years. I don’t know if it’s the pain or the artwork that you put on you, but it just becomes fascinating when you’re able to do this.”

He also acknowledged that having an extensive collection of tattoos comes with its challenges. He mentioned that children at his kids’ school perceive him as intimidating. His daughter shared, “They say, ‘ah, it’s a bit scary,’ and I say ‘no, my dad is not scary, he is good with tattoos.'” Despite the misconceptions, it seems Huff strives to challenge stereotypes associated with tattoos.

Richard Huff’s wife, Marita, admitted that she was initially apprehensive about him due to his appearance. She revealed, “I did judge Richard based on his looks at first, but as I got to know him a little bit, he is actually a big-hearted person.”

Marita frequently shares on social media about her husband, emphasizing how he loves her in a way that no one has before. She highlights his positive qualities, portraying him as a wonderful husband and father. Marita, who has three children from previous relationships, has expressed how Richard has played a significant role in their lives, going beyond the duties of a stepfather.

Richard himself shared, “I participate in the PTA, I go to all my kids’ functions,” underlining his active involvement in his children’s lives.

Despite the positive aspects of Richard Huff’s personality and his active role as a husband and father, he continues to face criticism. A comment expressing disapproval questioned the necessity of tattoos on his face, stating, “I’m not against tattoos, but I mean honestly, does he really need tattoos on his face like that?”

Amidst the criticism, there are individuals who come to Richard Huff’s defense. One supportive comment conveyed, “Everyone keeps talking about his face tattoo. He likes it. He got it. He’s a good father. Let him be.”

Speaking of the negativity Richard said, “If somebody can make negative comments like that, there’s something wrong with them themselves that they would have to judge somebody else.” He emphasized that he and his family are content with their choices, stating, “This is what we did and we’re happy. We’ve been together six years, our kids are happy, and to us, that’s all that matters.”

  1. I think you’re an amazing couple and good parents.. just seeing how happy your children are tells the story …I don’t know why people judge others but it’s something that is always going to happen…it would be nice if they had something positive to say instead, but that’s life !! I don’t see scared children at all I see children that love their dad .

  2. It never mentioned their ages, so I don’t know anything about an age gap. But as far as his tattoos, that doesn’t make him a good or bad dad. It does look a bit creepy to me, but that’s their lives and their decisions. That’s not for me or anyone else to judge. Only God can do that. Anyone judging should take a close look at themselves.

  3. He may be the best dad in the world but think of the embarrassment or even bullying you kids might get when you turn up at the school gates or even parent evening’s, not all think it’s cool.

    1. How embarrassed are your kids of you? People like yourself is what’s wrong with this world. Life is too hard to go around due in others. When there’s always work to be done in your own house and on yourself.

  4. How embarrassed are your kids of you? People like yourself is what’s wrong with this world. Life is too hard to go around judging others. When there’s always work to be done in your own house and on ourselves. If everyone always focused on being better human today then we were the previous day. It just might Provide some contentment, and happiness that most are lacking.

    1. YOU are what is wrong with society. The judgement from you is abhorrent. You must be the lord and savior, reincarnate, then right? For you to be able to judge so freely? This father is loving, takes care of his own and is a better person than you’ll ever be, even with all of those beautiful tattoos. GO EF UR SELF

  5. I am an Ink addict and i understand him completely. I don’t have covered my body entire, but step by step i will do it. Each of us have the right to be what they want, despite their tattoos, religion or sex preferences. And, wtf tattoos have to do with someone’s personality or love for kids and being a good husband? Ppl r judging everyone and everything these days. Not looking what it’s in their own backyard.

  6. At the end of the day it’s not my thing but it’s your body and choice. I would be scared if I saw you in the street and would probably turn around. But if you and your family are ok with and kids are looked after then it’s no body else’s business

  7. You and your wife are amazing people i love the strength you have This world needs more people like you in this judgemental world God bless
