Kate Moss, who once dated Johnny Depp, denied on Wednesday that the actor had ever pushed her down the stairs as claimed by Amber Heard.
Heard testified by video link at her ex-boyfriend’s defamation trial via video link.
As the defamation trial enters its final week, Johnny Depp 58, suing Heard, 36, for claiming to be a victim of ‘$exual violence. Despite the fact that his name was not mentioned in the op-ed, he claims it still hurt his career and reputation.
A lawsuit against the Aquaman actress is being filed by Edwards Scissorhands star for $50 million. Heard is countersuing her former husband for the same amount.
Kate Moss testified as a rebuttal witness on Wednesday and said that Depp never assaulted her at any point during their relationship.
During her brief testimony, Depp’s attorney, Ben Chew, questioned her about their four-year romance.
Despite rumors that the actor pushed her down a flight of stairs during a vacation in Jamaica, she stated that this was not true.
“We were leaving the room and Johnny left the room before I did, and there had been a rainstorm,” she told the court from Gloucestershire, England. “As I left the room, I slid down the stairs and I hurt my back.”
“I screamed because I didn’t know what had happened to me and I was in pain. He came running back to help me, and carried me to my room, and got me medical attention.”
Chew asked again whether Depp had ever “pushed her down the stairs” at any time during their relationship.
Moss answered: “No, he never pushed me, kicked me, or pushed me down any stairs.”
According to Moss, she dated Depp from 1994 to 1998. She was called as a witness by Depp’s lawyers after Heard testified that she thought of Moss when Depp allegedly tried to push his sister Whitney Henriquez down the stairs.
“[Henriquez’s] back was to the staircase, and Johnny swings at her,” Heard testified. “I don’t hesitate, I don’t wait — I just, in my head, instantly think of Kate Moss and stairs.”
“And I swung at him,” Heard said.
“In all of my relationship to date with Johnny, I hadn’t landed a blow,” she said. “And I, for the first time, hit him — like, actually hit him. Square in the face.”
