Jack Nicholson is a former American actor and filmmaker who’s recognized as one of the greatest actors in Hollywood.
Jack is famous for playing rebellious characters in most of his films. His notable projects include Batman, The Shining, As Good as it Gets, The Departed, The Two Jakes, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, and The Bucket List.
Throughout his acting career, which lasted more than five decades, Jack received numerous awards, including six Golden Globe Awards, Life Time Achievement Award, and Kennedy Center Honor.
In 2013, Nicholson quietly stepped away from acting due to problems with his memory.
“Jack has — without fanfare — retired. There is a simple reason behind his decision — it’s memory loss. Quite frankly, at 76, Jack has memory issues and can no longer remember the lines being asked of him. His memory isn’t what it used to be,” Radar Online wrote at that time.
“The 84-year-old Batman star is currently living out his “sad last days” at his Beverly Hills, Calif. Mansion.”
His last project as an actor was How Do You Know in 2010, in which he starred alongside Reese Witherspoon and Paul Rudd.
According to some sources, the greatest actor of all time “doesn’t leave his house anymore” and his children are reportedly taking care of him. Physically he is fine — but his mind is gone. It’s really sad to see such a super-talented actor, like Jack, go out this way.”
The last time the China Town actor was even seen in public was at the memorial of Kobe Bryant after his unexpected death.
“I was used to seeing and talking to Kobe. … It kills you. We’ll think of him all the time, and we’ll miss him,” he told Closer Weekly.
The Oscar-winning actor has five children with four different women. He shares his eldest daughter Jennifer with Sandra Knight, whom he married in 1962.
The couple stayed together for almost six years and parted ways in 1968.
Following his divorce from the Thunder Road actress, Jack started going out with Susan Anspach, and the two became parents to son Caleb in 1970.
The couple broke up soon after Caleb’s birth and never tied the knot.
In 1980, Nicholson started dating model Winnie Hollman, and their relationship lasted almost five years. Jack and Winnie welcomed their daughter Honey in 1981.
After breaking up with Hollman, Jack fathered his fourth child, Lorraine, with his The Two Jakes co-star, Rebecca Broussard. Lorraine was born in 1990. The couple also welcomed their second child and Jack’s youngest, Ray, in 1992.
While he was still acting, the Batman actor made several public appearances with his five kids on many red carpets. Despite often showing his love for his kids in public, Nicholson kept his children away from the media and preferred his kids’ privacy over everything else.
Speaking of parenthood, he once told AARP Magazine, “It’s a divided parenthood, with their wonderful [mothers] and myself. We’ve always gotten along. I want to be inspirational, or some kind of good influence on them without overburdening them.”
“It’s their time of life to find out who they are. I always read to them, from childhood on; I think that’s a father’s responsibility. I took them to things I knew they might not love — opera, ballet. They like going to the ball games with me.”
