Jennifer Lopez has spoken up for the first time after Gwyneth Paltrow’s explosive remarks about her husband, Ben Affleck’s bedroom skills.
The 53-year-old Love Don’t Cost a Thing singer appeared on The View on Thursday to promote her upcoming Netflix film, The Mother, and gushed over Affleck’s parenting abilities.
“He’s an amazing dad. It brings tears to my eyes. He is honestly the best dad I’ve ever seen. He’s so involved, he teaches me about how to interact with the kids sometimes,” she said. “He’s just so in tune.”
Lopez added that the Batman star is not only a brilliant partner but also a loving dad who knows a lot about parenting and he always shows up for his kids.
“He’s just a brilliant guy anyway like he’s so learned in many things and you can just tell like when he had his kids he must have read every book and everything that you could possibly learn about children.”
“He applies it, and he’s present.” She continued. “That’s all you can ask for a present, loving dad who cares and who shows up every single day.”
Her remarks came a few days after Paltrow, 50, sat down on the Call Her Daddy podcast and compared her two ex-boyfriends – Ben Affleck and Brad Pitt in the department of acting and love making.
The Iron Man actress dated Brad Pitt from 1994 to 1997 and was even engaged to him at one point during their relationship. Following her breakup with Pitt, she started going out with Affleck in 1997. The two dated for almost three years and broke up in 2000.
During the podcast, when Paltrow was asked who was better in the bedroom, Brad or Ben, she said, “That is really hard because Brad was like major chemistry love of your life kind of at the time and then Ben was like technically excellent.”
The ex-wife of Chris Martin was also asked to compare the two men’s acting skills, and she responded by saying, “They’re both so talented. And Ben is a great writer and director but I guess I would probably have to say acting alone, Brad. Like if you think of all the really different roles he’s done. I mean, Ben is great too.”
Speaking about her husband, whom she had dated on and off before eventually tying the knot last year in March, Jennifer told the Today Show presenters that Ben is an excellent father to her two kids, Emme and Max, both 15 years old.
She shares her children with her ex-husband, the American singer and songwriter, Marc Anthony.
When asked if things improved between her and Ben the second time they started dating, Lopez replied,
“As different things happen in your life, you realize what’s really important.”
Ben Affleck & Jennifer Lopez had always been the “it couple” for over a decade now. The couple starred together in Gigli, where they became quick friends and started dating in 2002. It was a short-lived relationship that ended in 2004. They both went their separate ways and married other people – only to come back together stronger than ever in 2022.
