The Magic Mike actor has officially filed for divorce from his wife Sofia Vergara, only days after announcing their split.
According to divorce documents obtained by PEOPLE, Manganiello has cited ‘irreconcilable differences’ as the reason for their split, listed the date of separation from Vergara as July 2, 2023, and noted that they had a prenuptial agreement in place.
“We have made the difficult decision to divorce. As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for respect of our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives,” the couple told Page Six in a statement earlier this week.
The 51-year-old Colombian actress and model is currently celebrating her birthday in Italy with a bunch of friends but there is no sign of her husband Joe or a wedding ring on her finger.
Meanwhile, the Colombian actress is apparently not so upset over her split with Joe Manganiello. In her latest Instagram posts, the Modern Family actress could be seen posing in skimpy swimwear and promoting her beauty line as she touches up her makeup and poses for alluring pictures.
“On vacation like everyone else, I get a bit of a hand with food, drinks, shopping, but with the sun on my face, I don’t play!” Vergara wrote on her latest Instagram post featuring the new sunscreen SPF 50+, from Toty.
According to an insider, “Sofía and Joe have been growing apart for a while now and are taking some distance from each other to contemplate their future.”
The couple was last seen together on the set of Joe’s new project, Nonnas, when Vergara visited her 46-year-old husband in Hoboken, N.J.
“Vergara, a judge on the NBC hit “America’s Got Talent,” is in Capri with her best friends and living her best life, posting a series of sexy photos on Instagram,” Page Six wrote.
“But Manganiello’s absence has not gone unnoticed by fans on Instagram, as Vergara later posted a photo with the message: When life gives u lemons u come to Italy to squeeze them.”
The couple tied the knot in 2015 with no kids together.
According to Daily Mail, a source revealed that the couple has drifted apart due to ‘different attitudes’ in life, and they don’t share a lot in common.
“Joe is a big kid, he loves playing Dungeons & Dragons, he loves wrestling, he is all about video games, superhero movies, comic books, going to concerts, huge NFL fan. He chases fun.”
“He always loves being out and about and just having a good time. And then when it is time to be serious and when it is time to get to work, he turns on that part of himself, but he is always ready to live life to the fullest and go out and just be fun and have fun,” the source added.
The insider added that while Sofia craves a finer life with trips, lavish dinners, being a celebrity and everything that comes with all of that, the actress also has a temper and she gets upset over ‘stupid things’ very easily.
“That was not really seen while they were falling in love, but then the true versions of themselves started showing and they just got annoyed with each other, choosing work over hanging out.”
The source close to the couple said that their relationship has become ‘draining’ for them as they cannot cope with each others’ extremely different attitudes in life.
